Ikki has a dream where he meets a strange [[alien]] on the moon. After he wakes up, he runs errands for his family and meets [[Arika]] at the [[24 Hop Mart]]. A special broadcast from [[Yuuki]] of the [[Medarot Company]] announces that a special Robattle tournament is scheduled, with the prize being a trip to a space station. Arika goes to practice in the park but she is harangued by [[The Screws]]. After Ikki fights them off, a sudden magenetic storm wipes off the data of everyone's [[Medarotch]], leaving only [[Medarot]]s that were deployed during the event unaffected.
 
Arika and Ikki decide to investigate the cause behind this incident. As they do so, they discover that the RoboRobo Gang's executives have escaped jail and that a variety of odd occurences in school and around town have been caused by RoboRobo goons, who shrunk themselves using an advanced device called the [[MiniMini Machine]]. After apprehending most of the RoboRobos, Ikk iand Arika gets ready for the first stage of the tournament at the school's grounds but are surprised when [[Kikuhime]] forces herself as the third member of the team. Progressing through the championship, they find that the final team they were supposed to face was kidnapped and replaced by RoboRobos. Beating the fake team, Ikki heads inside the school and comes to face with [[Shiokara]], who holds the missing team hostage. Denying any responsibility for the magnetic storm, Shiokara escapes.
 
At Kikuhime's request, Ikki heads to [[Iwanoi]]'s house to check up on him, as he's locked himself all days trying to find the cause of the Medarotch malfunction. Soon after they enter Iwanoi's room, the computer program Iwanoi was using is mysterious deleted and Iwanoi and Arika are knocked out by [[Electra]], a being made of energy. Ikki defeats Electra in Robattle and heads home to rest for the next day.

Medarot 3 was released in 2000 for the Game Boy Color. It was released in two versions: Kabuto and Kuwagata.

New features

  • Medachange (the ability for Medarots to transform)
  • Medalias (small gems that boost a Medal's skills)
  • Medals now have 3 indents at the bottom for the insertion of Medalias
  • Many characters got re-designed to reflect the Anime
