Metabee (メタビー), model KBT-1, is a Medarot belonging to Ikki Tenryou, the central Medarot of Medarot 2 and its sequels in Kabuto version. Also starring in anime and manga adaptations. He is commonly upgraded to the KBT-3 / KBT-5X Saikachis model in sequels.
In the games[edit]
In Medarot 2 / Medarot 2 Core[edit]
Metabee is given to Ikki by Hikaru Agata after a misunderstanding when Ikki went to the store to buy Retort Curry for dinner. Hikaru was insistent on providing the new Kabuto model, as he had secretly received a mission from Dr. Medarot to encourage Ikki to become a Medarotter.
Despite being scolded by his mother for spending dinner money on a Medarot, Ikki soon became excited about finally having one. However, he only had the parts and not the most important thing, the medal.
That same day, as Ikki's father returned from work, Phantom Retort approached him and handed him a Kabuto Medal to give to his son. Unlike his mother, Ikki's father encouraged Ikki to become a Medarotter and gave him the medal, bringing Metabee to life.
On the way to school, Ikki is approached by Arika Amazake, who, upon realizing that Ikki finally has a Medarot, challenges him to his first Robattle. She reassures him that the battle would be friendly and would not involve handing over a part of the Medarot to the winner. Despite Arika and her Sailor-Multi, Brass, having more experience, they are defeated by Ikki and Metabee.
At school, Ikki and Arika witness the Screws ruining the Robattle Contest for other students. Arika encourages Ikki and Metabee to do something about it. Ikki and Metabee face the three members of the Screws, who then decide to use their three Medarots against Ikki's only Metabee.
Although it seemed unfair, three against one was a valid rule in Robattle. However, the Screws' advantage was short-lived when Metabee defeated all three Medarots at once using his Medaforce, Issei Shageki, leaving the Screws frustrated with their defeat.
Despite this incredible feat, Metabee would not be able to use Medaforce again until the Kabuto Medal's Aim Shot had enough level.
In Medarot R[edit]
Unlike previous games, Medarot R is not split into Kabuto and Kuwagata version, allowing Ikki to acquire both Metabee and Rokusho in a single storyline. Metabee is Ikki's initial Medarot, and while Ikki can use other Medarots and parts throughout the game, Metabee always appears in scenes where Ikki's Medarot is shown. If a scene requires displaying more than one of Ikki's Medarots, both Metabee and Rokusho will appear together.
In Medabots AX[edit]
Ikki and Metabee arrive on an island to participate in a robattle tournament. Metabee explains to Ikki that he must win the preliminaries in six locations on the island to qualify for the finals and compete for the prize.
Metabee, with his Kabuto Medal, is Ikki's initial Medabot, accompanied by a female Tinpet with a Mermaid Medal who initially has limited parts available, primarily Sailor-Multi's.
After winning the preliminaries, Metabee is excited about the finals, urging Ikki to stay focused and not let his guard down. In the final, they defeat Koji and Sumilidon. However, their victory is short-lived as the Rubberobo Gang invades the arena to steal the prize, leaving Ikki and Metabee frustrated. Metabee encourages Ikki to pursue the villains.
After defeating the Rubberobo Gang and retrieving the prize, an Arcbeetle model, Metabee celebrates, eager to robattle as much as they want now.
In Medarot 3[edit]
In Medarot 3, Metabee becomes a proper character in the story, unlike his silent appearances in Medarot 2 and R. He now has dialogues and actively participates in scenes. The player cannot transfer the Kabuto medal to another game before finishing the story, with Metabee even yelling at Ikki not to trade him with someone else.
Metabee's personality is based on his Medarot anime counterpart, retaining his selfish attitudes and constantly annoying Ikki.
Due to an incident, Ikki loses all of his medals and parts acquired in Medarot 2, except for Metabee, who was outside of the Medarotch when it happened.
Eventually, Nae Akihabara provides new parts for Metabee, upgrading him to the Saikachis model, which allows him to use Medachange. Due to Ikki's tendency to lose his Medarotch, Metabee is used by other characters such as Arika Amazake, Kouji Karakuchi, and Karin Junmai.
In Medarot 3 Parts Collection: A Challenge from Z[edit]
In Medarot Brave[edit]
In Medarot 4[edit]
[edit]
Ikki can be found in the post-game, where he uses Metabee in his Saikachis model.
In Medarot G[edit]
Ikki and Metabee are opponents that Koishimaru Tensan can Robattle. For some reason Metabee is not in his Saikachis model.
In the manga[edit]
In Medarot 2[edit]
Ikki could afford a Medarot and he strongly wished for one. However, his parents would not give him permission to get one. A KBT Medarot was in the store, and Ikki would always keep an eye on it. Ikki almost bought it, but there were no Medals in stock, to which Hikaru says that his dog once found one, and that said event would not happen again. Ikki then mistakenly breaks the Medarot and runs from the store.
Ikki tries to find a Medal by making Solty go find it. However, he did not return with one until some tries later, where he coincidentally found a Kabuto Medal. However, Solty was seen by two thieves, who chased Ikki all the way to his house. They challenged Ikki to a Robottle with a DeathPhoenix and a Sabotenna, but as Ikki had no Medarot, both thieves tried to steal the Medal using the Medarots. Solty, who had the Medal, ran to avoid the attacks from the Medarots. Ikki took his and his parent's valuables and went to buy a Medarot to defend himself from the attacks. As the Medarot was broken, it was going to be given to the store manager's son, however Hikaru decided to sell the Medarot to Ikki. It was almost given to the little boy, however it was transported to where Ikki was and he Robottled against the thieves. The KBT Medarot did not obey Ikki, however he beated the thieves quickly. By the second episode, the Medarot was named Metabee.
Mr. Uruchi confunded Ikki's Metabee with Hikaru's, and even Hikaru pointed out this Metabee was exactly the same as his.
In the anime[edit]
-->Voice Actors: Junko Takeuchi, Joe Motiki (EN)
Ikki longed for a long time to be a Medarotter. This was not possible since he couldn't afford a Medarot. Luckily for him, he saw a Kabuto Medal in Omikuji City's river. What he didn't know is that said Medal was a rare one. But when he sees his friend Arika being harshly attacked by The Rockers, he runs to the store clerk, Hikaru, and buys a Medarot using the Medal he found. Hikaru gives him his old Metabee's Parts packed, and tells Ikki to name his Medarot Metabee. In the american dub, though, Ikki names his Medarot like this. When Ikki goes to Robottle The Rockers, Metabee showed to be fast and powerful, being capable of beating two HellPhoenix and a Blackmail with a Death Bomb all by himself. He started being a disobedient Medarot, but later Metabee grew up having a bond with his Medarotter. The relationship between both is that of two siblings, fighting for common things like bed and food. However, when it comes to Robottle, both show to be strong and righteous.
Ikki and Metabee went to a World Robottle Tournament, much like Hikaru did back then. An event similar to the Ten Days of Darkness occurred when Ikki was in the finals against Victor and his Warbonnet. However, Ikki could rescue Metabee from his dream before he had to shut down his Medarot like Hikaru did. Both stopped the event to occur, and when Dr. Hebereke saw his plan to make Medarot own the world was screwed, he created a giant Medarot to destroy the city, and later the world, directly and without having to control every Medarot, as his last resort. Dr. Medarot foresaw this, so he built a Giant Metabee to fight Primity Baby. However, it had to be driven by Metabee himself and many other Medarots to power up him. After a long and hard Robottle, Metabee decided to sacrifice himself to save the world. He was short after revived and brought back. After said event, Ikki could end the Robottle against Victor.
A time after these events, a guy named Ginkai and his Death Medarot, Gundesperado, caused riot in the city. This was part of a bigger plan from Kokuryuu to end with the Medarots and that his company models, the Death Medarots, were predominant. Ikki faced Gundesperado with Metabee, however, he lost, despite he used the Medaforce. Ikki got a new Medarotch, the Medarotch Advance, from Nae, aswell as new Parts for his Metabee. As Metabee now could Medachange, he used this capability to skillfully defeat Gundesperado. Metabee's Reckless Mode allows him to transform into a car, gaining mobility this way, whilst his Crafty Mode allows him to shoot an energy ball to his enemy, dealing massive ammount of damage.
Even though Metabee himself is strong, himself alone wasn't enough to fight Grain. Even then, help from other Medarots, namely Dorcus, Tyrrellbeetle and Arcbeetle-Dash (all of them KBT and KWG-types) was needed to stop him, and even that was not enough.
A special model based on this Metabee appears playable in Medarot S, known as Metabee A.
