Subaru (スバル Subaru) is a character introduced in Medarot 3, playing a crucial role not only in the game's plot but in the broader Medarot mythos.

Subaru is one of the two original Mother Medals sent to Earth by aliens long ago, and is credited with creating all the rare medals found on the planet. These medals would eventually be used by humans to give life to Medarots, making Subaru, in essence, the "Mother Medarot". Subaru can manifest as a spirit, taking the form of a mysterious boy who appears in the dreams of both Ikki Tenryou and Karin Junmai. While the reason for Subaru's connection to Ikki is due to Ikki owning one of his rare medals, the link with Karin is left unexplained.

In his Medarot body, Subaru is not depicted as a battle model. While players can't challenge him to a robattle in Medarot 3, he does use his team in Medarot 3 Parts Collection. Interestingly, Subaru's team consists of the same playing card-themed Medarots used by Black Devil, suggesting that these Medarots might serve as the elite force for both Mother Medals. His primary Medarot is First Ace.

Subaru serves as the boss of the Desert Area, the ninth zone in the game. His team is composed of First Ace, Jackal, and Mayqueen, mirroring the second team used by Black Devil in Medarot 3. Upon defeating Subaru, the player is rewarded with First Ace's parts.
