Sickle Cutter (シックルカッター) is a mantis-type Medarot that first appeared in Medarot Navi.

Description

Sickle Cutter is built to inflict status at close range. Its arms mount envenomed blades designed to both deal damage and inflict Virus to reduce enemies' Rate of Success. Its head part mounts the Booster ability, a passive bonus that increases the potency of attacks after moving.

Of course, being so focused on closing in leaves Sickle Cutter at a disadvantage. Both of its arm attacks have pitiful range and medium AP cost, while its four-legged base (combined with the aforementioned Booster) requires more than a little AP to move across most terrain. Often unable to move and attack in the same turn, kiting is made a viable strategy against the water mantis.

Sickle Cutter is incapable of Medachange, but there is a Medachange-capable upgrade in the form of Scythe Cutter.

In the games

In Medarot Navi

Sickle Cutter is the signature Medarot of Mizore, an intelligent but cowardly student who is rarely seen without his accomplice, the strong (but dimwitted) Gousetsu. The two are bullies, picking on Kasumi and challenging him to Robottles against his Windclap at the beginning of the game (mirroring Ikki's encounters with Iwanoi of the Screws in Medarot 2). When they both lose handily, they steal Kasumi's East Medal and run away.

With the class trip to Cluster (and subsequent crisis) Mizore and Gousetsu are met in a desert ruins module and are Robottled once again - the two of them together versus Kasumi and the soldier Fubuki. With their defeat comes a newfound respect for the lady soldier; the two take Fubuki as their leader and return Kasumi's East Medal.

From that point, Mizore's Sickle Cutter (and Gousetsu's Bug Stink) are mainstays of Kasumi's student army. One Parts Research module near the end of Cluster can be used to replace Sickle Cutter with the Medachange-capable Scythe Cutter.

Have Far East run from him and snipe at him,doing damage as all Mizore's Medarot is good for is close combat, leaving him vulnerable to Melee Traps.

DO NOT fight him in close range with a Windclap as he'll quickly lose.
