Pinguen (ピンゲン), known in English as Pingen, is a penguin-type Medarot that first appeared in the original Medarot game.

Description[edit]

Pinguen is a small Medarot that resembles a penguin wearing a bowtie. Its specialty is repairing its allies, specifically by restoring function to broken parts. Its legs allow it to float or swim underwater.

Pinguen's name comes from "penguin" with the vowel sounds switched. Its name is spelled Pingen in the English version.

In the games[edit]

Pinguen is an aquatic Medarot that specializes in using Revive actions to restore its allies' broken parts. Although fast, its armor is very weak, making it a frail but useful partner Medarot to bring along in battle.

In Medarot 1, 2, R, and 2 Core, its parts have the Revival attribute, making it an obvious choice for use with the Penguin Medal.

In Medarot 1[edit]

Pinguen's right arm is the fastest Revive part in Medarot 1, and its head is the only part in the game capable of reviving multiple parts at once.

Its parts can only be obtained as a gift from Kirara in the post-game, and only if the player has met the conditions for Kirara's ending. (The player receives Acehorn's parts instead if they get Nae's ending.)

In Medarot 2[edit]

Pinguen's parts are not normally obtainable in Medarot 2, and must be transferred over from Medarot 1. It was replaced by the new PEN-type, Pentachin.

In Medarot R[edit]

Is obtainable from the Part Collection by fighting ガールスカウト that is ranked opponent number 26.

In Medarot 2 Core[edit]

Pinguen replaces Pentachin and is used by office lady Medarotters.

In Medarot Brave[edit]

Quote: Are you in trouble? Call Pingen! Pingen can repair your broken Medaparts!

In Medarot DS[edit]

Its model number is now PEN00-F.

In the anime[edit]

Pinguen appears in episode 19 of the anime series (episode 36 in the English version), where it belongs to a boy named Kouta (Paco in the English version) whose father is working in Antarctica. Pinguen spent time in Antarctica and thinks of itself as a penguin, so when the RoboRobo Gang opens a zoo that treats penguins badly, it decides to help them escape and return to their proper home. With the help of Ikki, Arika, Karin, and Rokusho, they free the penguins from the zoo and help them onto a ship headed to Antarctica.
