Mr. Uruchi (Mr. Referee in English translations) is a recurring character in the Medarot franchise, starting from the first game. He is a Robattle referee employed by the Robottle Association (or World Medarot Association in the anime) to oversee Robattle and ensure bouts respect the rules of the sports.

While the games typically only have Mr. Uruchi oversee official tournaments, he is a more prominent (and comical) character in the mangas and the first anime, where he has a near-omnipotent awareness of when Robattles are about to occur and a flair for making bizarre and dramatic entrances.

In the games[edit]

Medarot 1[edit]

He is the referee for the City, District and later National tournaments.

Medarot 2[edit]

He arbiters the Robattle tournament on Medarot Island.

Medarot 3[edit]

He is the referee for the tournament to win a trip to the space station. When Kikuhime suggests the team be named "The Corkscrews", he registers it despite Ikki's hesitation.

After Kikuhime departs from the Medalympics team at the end of Chapter 2 and requests a substitution, he asks Yuuki if this is acceptable within the rules of the contest. Yuuki approves.

Starting with this game, he can be heard shouting "Robottle, fight!" before the start of tournament Robattles.

Medabots AX[edit]

Mr. Uruchi is shown calling every battle.

Medarot Brave[edit]

Like in Medabots AX and the anime, he acts as the refereee for every robattle in the game. He has a variety of voice clips.

In the anime[edit]

Medarot[edit]

Mr. Uruchi is a recurring character in the first anime series, where he is seemingly the sole person responsible for arbitrating every Robattle in the country of Japan. He has an habit of making flashy entrances appropriately themed after the location or context of the robattle. He is able to enforce the rules of the World Robottle Federation through a satellite medarot, which can fire a powerful beam at any would-be infractor.
