Crow Tengu (クローテングー) is a Crow-type Medarot from the original Medarot game.

Description

Crow Tengu is a bird-like Medarot with wings on its shoulders. It has two green fans for hands which it can use to blow enemies away, and it is also capable of shooting anti-air projectiles from its head and arms. In its game sprites, Crow Tengu is portrayed as a legless flying Medarot, while its official artwork, 3D models and anime/manga appearances show it with bird-like legs.

Crow Tengu is based heavily on a "karasu tengu" (literally "crow tengu"), a type of mythical creature that is part man and part crow and traditionally shown carrying fans made of feathers.

In the games

In the early games, Crow Tengu is a flying-type Medarot with a Gatling attack on its head and Anti-Air shooting attacks on both of its arms. Its arms and legs have the Anti-Air attribute, making it very compatible with the Bat Medal.

In Medarot 7, Crow Tengu's arms use Tornado attacks, which prevent targets from moving for a short time and make them susceptible to Anti-Air attacks.

In Medarot 1

In Medarot 1, Crow Tengu's arms are technically Gatling attacks with the Anti-Air attribute, and having either arm equipped gives all of its attacks a bonus against other flying Medarots. Its parts can be obtained from random battles, or bought from a convenience store at the Medal excavation site in either version of the game.

In Medarot 2

Crow Tengu's parts are not normally obtainable in Medarot 2, and need to be transferred over from Medarot 1. (Its role as a ranged Anti-Air attacker was instead filled by the new BAT-type, Goufbaret.) Because the mechanics for Anti-Air attacks were changed, Crow Tengu's arms were changed to use the standard "Anti-Air" shooting attack.

Crow Tengu was not included in the Medarot 2 Core remake.

In Medarot Dual

In Medarot 8

In the anime

In episode 28 of the anime series, Nadako's Kanehachi Mk2 uses the Tornado part in a battle against Metabee.

Crow Tengu also has a short cameo appearance in Medarot Damashii.
