The primary goal of this guide is to tell you how to progress in the game at any given point, though documenting item locations and a random encounter list is a secondary goal. I do not understand japanese so many names I use for items and locations are placeholders and may be changed later. This sadly also means I will not be talking about the story itself much, only mentioning events when needed and as I vaguely understand them.

Currently this guide will be for the Kabuto Version. I plan to re-play the Kuwagata version to better add information once I am done with the Kabuto Version, but I have played both so I will be noting Kuwagata Version differences when i remember them.

Part 1 - Beggining and Tutorial[edit]

  • The game begins with a new teacher, Ryuko, introducing herself. After the player decides a name for themselves, Ryuko asks all the students to follow her outside, to the left of Omikuji Town.
  • Once in the forest area left of Omikuji (Which I will refer to as Omikuji Forest), talk to Ryukou to recieve the parts for Saikachis/Dorcus, alongside your Kabuto Medal or Kuwagata Medal depending on the version. You will also recieve 1 Medalias of each type.
    • Note: Metabee and Rokusho were already upgraded to their medachange counterparts in Medarot 3 and are not normally obtainable in 4.
  • Talk to her once again and she will ask you 2 yes/no questions, the answers to both seem irrelevant. After that, go down to be between Erika and the 2 generic students and say Yes to the "are you ready?" prompt.
    • This is the usual tutorial battle, Erika will use a Last Sailor, results don't matter and no parts will be gained or lost.
  • After beating Erika, Ryuko take you to the first of many sooon-to-come minigames, Meda-Speed King. She will first ask whenever you need an explanation, then you're thrown into it on a match against Erika. This run is a tutorial one so results do not matter. the first one being on the Road terrain, where Saikachis' Medachange has an advantage.
    • The building that Ryukou took you, which I will refer to as the "Meda-Speed King House" is where you'll be able to play it more should you wish. You get Rubberobo Medals as prizes for winning there. The Diststar At the left counter will keep track of your Record Time and the Eucalyn at the right counter will keep track of how many games you won (That will matter for a sidequest later but is not important right now).
  • You're free to explore or train if you want. Henry can be fought in the town's Shop for Pii parts if one wishes.
  • once you're ready head to the Lab at the top right corner of Omikuji. There, talk to Akihabara. He will give you a Town Map that you can look at to see what some other areas in the game are, and in which one you are.
    • While there, you can fight Nae and her Clear Purée. After winning she will let you pick 1 of 4 medals: East (Top left one), South (Top right one), West (Bottom left one) and North (Bottom right one). I don't believe any of them are missable but I'm yet to confirm this. At some later points in the game's progress she will want to battle again, thus giving you the chance to obtain the other Medals so don't worry too much about your pick.

Part 2 - The Screws and Medaropolis[edit]

  • Go to Erika's house (The one above yours) and talk to her mom.
  • Go back to the Omikuji Forest area where you'll talk to the Screws. You can now go to the right of Omikuji to go to Medaropolis, but the lowermost parts will be blocked for now.
  • Before going to Medaropolis, you can go to Omikuji Square to fight Arika. This is an easy fight as even staying in robot form you can win. Be sure to destroy Brass's arms.
    • The Paint Shop and Meda-Link now avaliable, in the big building in the top-left part of Medaropolis. The Paint Shop is the upper corner of the first Floor. More on Meda-Link later.
  • Go to Rosewood School (the school in the Upper-Right part of Medaropolis, the first building when entering from the left) and talk to Koji. He will challenge you to a Meda-Speed King match in the Road terrain.
  • After winning that, Karin will appear. You have to pick one of them to fight alongside you and Erika against the Screws.
    • Depending on who you choose, the other will be left behind and will be avaliable for for robattling briefly but repetably. It will also affect which Medal you will get shortly . If Koji is left behind, he will use Excise in the Kabuto Version or Unitris in the Kuwagata Version (A good oportunity to get their parts).Be careful in the Kuwagata version, as Unitris has Drain Charge, and fits well in the 'City' terrain, In the Kabuto version, use Metabee's Cross Attacks to destroy Excise. If Karin is left behind, she will use Brave Nurse with Put-Cat Arms
  • After picking, go to the Central Square of Omikuji and talk to Erika, then go back to Omikuji Forest and face the Screws.

Screws: Darkpanther (Leader), Stray Wolf, Brownbison

  • After beating them, you'll recieve the Culture Medal from Koji or the Machine Medal from Karin, from whichever one you picked. These Medals can learn Spiral Bolt(Culture Medal) or Ultimate Shot(Machine Medal) respectively.
  • Now go back to Ikki's house and get some money from your mom, then go to Omikuji's Shop and talk to Henry. You'll recieve a new Female Tinpet, the parts for Marche, and either the Saurus Medal in the Kabuto Version or Vehicle Medal in the Kuwagata Version.
  • If you have no more business, go back home and sleep for the day

Part 3 - Mt. Odoro and Meda Road Race[edit]

  • Once you wake up, eat your delicious Spice-A-Rony and get back to school, inn the down-right classroom of the second floor and sit next to Erika.
    • Once that dialogue is over, the Screws can be found in the forest left of Omikuji and can be fought individually for their parts. They will be here for some time if you want to do that later.
    • Samantha will use Darkpanther as leader and 2 Noctocat.
    • Spyke will use Stray Wolf as leader and 2 Purple Collar.
    • Sloan will use Brownbison as leader and 2 Rickturtle.

  • If you are playing the Kabuto Version, aim for getting a Noctocat if you want to use the Saurus Medal.

  • If you are playing the Kuwagata Version, aim for getting a Rickturtle or buy Comandog parts if you want to use the Vehicle Medal.

  • Once you're ready, go to the area above Omikuji Town, to an area I will be referring to as Mt. Odoro, and talk to Ryuko to receive a new Male Tinpet.
  • Talk to her once again to progress on the story and be introduced to the next Mini-game: Meda Road Race.(see the Mini-game section below for more details)
  • Once that tutorial is done, you're free to roam and explore if you want. Once you're ready to progress, go home and answer yes to your mom to sleep for the day.
    • The Meda Road Race House in Omikuji Forest is now open. This is where you can play more of it if you wish, being awarded Rubberobo Medals for each victory. The Earth-Brachio there will keep track of your victories.
  • More soon

Mini-games[edit]

Whenever one of those pops up they will be explained here.

  • Meda-speed King: This is a racing minigame. You must first select a Medarot, which must be your Partner Medarot. If your bot is capable of Medachange, you will be asked if you wish to use its medachange or not, this being important for the leg type but I believe can affect overall speed based on some stat. The races happen on differente Terrains.
    • How to play: Your bot will not move until you press Down, but if you press Down before the countdown is over you're disqualifided and lose the race. You hold the A button to charge medaforce and you let it go to let it drain, but don't let the gauge get to the Red bar or your medarot will Overheat and be slowed down. If your bot Overheats, let the gauge go back to the Green bar to fix that. The Yellow bar will give the highest speeds, so maintain your gauge on it.
  • Meda Road Race: An obstacle course racing mini-game. You choose 3 medarots to race against 3 medarots from 2 other oponents, using a limited Medaforce supply to speed up and keep the pace. The race starts with the first medarot, and throught the course you'll have 2 oportunities to change to the next medarot, which will have refilled Medaforce gauges for you to use, and is a also a change to change your Medarot to better fit the terrain.
    • How to play: the races are auto-scrollers to the right, so your Medarot will always be going right, but you can make it go up or down to avoid obstacles or enter/avoid different terrains and the other contestants. You can press A or B to convert some Medaforce into speed, which will deplete over time so its a game about maintaining a balance. at 1/3 and 2/3 of the race, there will be pods where the contestants can change to their next Medarot, the uppermost pod being the player's so aim for that one. That will refill the medaforce gauge and allow you to pick up the pace.
