Yuchitang (ユイチイタン), known in English as Sharkkan, is a shark-type Medarot that first appeared in the original Medarot game.

Description[edit]

Yuchitang is a shark-like Medarot designed for aquatic battles, with a long flexible tail in the place of legs to allow it to maneuver underwater. Its arms are stylized to look like shark jaws, and can be used to bite at opponents or fire off gravity-based attacks.

Its name comes from "yu chi tang" (魚翅湯), the Chinese word for shark fin soup. Its name was changed to Sharkkan in the English version.

In the games[edit]

Yuchitang is an aquatic-type Medarot that specializes in Break attacks. Its parts have the Gravity attribute, making it highly compatible with the Bear Medal.

In Medarot 1[edit]

The player first encounters Yuchitang in a battle with Reika (one of the leaders of the RoboRobo Gang) in the harbor town area near the beginning of the game.

Later on, its parts can be obtained from random battles or bought from a convenience store outside the Medarot Laboratory.

In Medarot 2[edit]

Yuchitang's parts are not normally obtainable in Medarot 2, and must be transferred over from Medarot 1.

In Medarot R[edit]

Is obtainable from the Part Collection by fighting メダロッター9 that is ranked opponent number 16.

In Medarot 2 Core[edit]

Yuchitang makes a reappearance in the GBA remake, where it's used by Medarotters in Odoro Mountain and the Kodine Kingdom.

In Medarot 7[edit]

Its model number is now SAK00.

In the anime[edit]

Yuchitang appears in episode 5 of the original anime series, where a group of boys use it to scare people away from the local beach. Metabee defeats it in a one-on-one battle after learning to swim using Kanehachi Mk2's leg parts.
