Typhoon (タイフーン Taifūn) is the main antagonist of Medarot 1 and the main cause Ten Days of Darkness case.

The leader of the RoboRobo Gang, his real name is Taiyo (タイヨー Taiyō) the Captain of the Select Corps. His primary Medarot is HellPhoenix and later he uses parts of the primary Medarots from the International Championship competitors.

Although he only appeared in the first game and the manga adaptation, his actions caused consequences in subsequent games.

In the games[edit]

Medarot 1[edit]

Taiyo is the Captain of the Select Corps, but secretly is also the leader of the RoboRobo Gang as Typhoon.

He appears for the first time at the Medal Digging Site to help Reika against Hikaru Agata but ends up losing to the young boy. He is later seen judging the RoboRobo Gang's internal competition where Hikaru infiltrated and won; not recognizing the boy he awarded the winner with Conductor's Baton, Boss' photo and Monkey Medal.

After several of the RoboRobo Gang's plans failed thanks to Hikaru, Taiyo entered the National Tournament as himself. He initially kidnaps Beauty but is confronted by Hikaru. Taiyo faces Hikaru in the tournament finals and loses.

After his defeat, Taiyo begins his final plan, the Ten Days of Darkness. A large number of Medarots went berserk due to the radio waves transmitted by the RoboRobo gang at the Select Corps Headquarter.

Hikaru, with the help of his friends, defeats Taiyo's allies and the boy alone confronts the leader. Taiyo loses once again, and although he had a secret weapon called Beast Master, the powerful Medarot loses control by not obeying his command. Hikaru manages to defeat Beast Master, but the Select Corps' headquarters collapses due to Beast Master's rampage and destruction.

Taiyo and Hikaru are rescued by aliens. However, his refusal to acknowledge its existence causes Taiyo to fall to the ground. Although his life was spared, he was captured and was taken away screaming that there were aliens, which exposed him in a shameful manner.

Although Taiyo didn't appear again after this event, his actions created a legacy in the following games. With RoboRobo Gang continuing to exist with different leaders, his Beast Master continued to be upgraded into powerful new Medarots used by the villains and his Ten Days of Darkness is what motivated Dr. Medarot to come up with the idea of Hikaru becoming Phantom Retort and preventing medals from falling into the wrong hands.
