The type of Medaforce a Medarot possesses depends on its Medal. Each medal offers three Medaforces, typically unlocked at levels 10, 30, and 60. The Medaforce gauge must be filled before it can be used, and this can be achieved by the Medarot taking damage or by spending a turn to gather energy without using any parts.

Medaforce, unlike in the games, can only be accessed by Medarots with rare Medals or those deemed exceptional. Initially in the series, Medarots using Medaforce had no control over its activation, but as the story progressed, characters began to exhibit a degree of control over when they unleashed the Medaforce. The first instance of Medaforce in the anime occurs during Rokusho and Metabee's rooftop battle at Dr. Akihabara's burning lab, where Rokusho employs it to defeat Metabee.
In both anime series, the Medaforce is portrayed as an exceptionally powerful and rare ability that is guaranteed to immediately KO the Medarot on the receiving end, with only exceptionally skilled Medarotters who planned on the eventuality being able to avoid it. In contrast to the games, when a Medarot uses Medaforce in the animes, it expends so much energy from its Medal that it becomes temporarily immobilized, leaving it vulnerable to incoming attacks. This makes Medaforce a high-risk, high-reward maneuver.

Each Medaforce user, except Empress Patra, possesses either a Kabuto or Kuwagata Medal. Kabuto Medal users unleash a powerful blast from their arm parts, akin to Ultrashoot or Issei Shageki, dealing substantial damage in one shot. On the other hand, Kuwagata Medal wielders utilize sword parts like Rokusho's Chanbara Sword, Smilodonad's Flexor Sword, or Dorcus's Forvice to deliver a devastating slash, similar to Spiral Bolt or Tate Issen.

Medaforce (メダフォース) is a special kind of skill every Medal can obtain in Medarot 2 onwards. A Medaforce attack acts as a regular attack, but is independant from the Medarot's parts (except if the Medarot's functions have ceased), and its requirement is a certain amount of charged Medaforce from the Medarot (usually represented by a MF gauge in the games).

In the games

Medarot 2 / 2 Core

The first indication of Medaforce's existence appeared during Ikki's first battle against the Screws. The bullies deployed all three of their Medarots simultaneously against Ikki's Metabee/Rokusho, but they were defeated when Ikki's Medarot utilized its Medaforce for the first time. However, Ikki seemed unable to replicate this feat for a while, requiring his medal to be leveled up in order to unlock the Medaforces.

Upon returning from his journey in the Odoro Marsh, Ikki became curious and questioned Dr. Medarot about the capabilities of his Medarotch. Dr. Medarot explained that Ikki had been given a new model of Medarotch with the ability to use Medaforce, and this model had only recently become available to the public, leaving Ikki surprised to possess a new model ahead of everyone else.

Following this revelation, all Medarotters in the game gained the ability to use Medaforce with their Medarots.

In the anime

In both anime series, the Medaforce is portrayed as an exceptionally powerful and rare ability that is guaranteed to immediately KO the Medarot on the receiving end, with only exceptionally skilled Medarotters who planned on the eventuality being able to avoid it. In contrast to the games, when a Medarot uses Medaforce in the animes, it expends so much energy from its Medal that it becomes temporarily immobilized, leaving it vulnerable to incoming attacks. This makes Medaforce a high-risk, high-reward maneuver.

Medarot

Unlike in the games, the Medaforce is only usable by Medarots equipped with a Rare Medal. Initially in the series, Medarots using Medaforce had no control over its activation, but as the story progresses, characters begin to exhibit a degree of control over when they unleashed the Medaforce. The first instance of Medaforce in the anime occurs during Rokusho and Metabee's rooftop battle at Dr. Akihabara's burning lab, where Rokusho employs it to defeat Metabee ("Clash! Metabee vs. Rokusho").

A select few Medarots in the anime have mastered Medaforce, with most of them possessing Rare Medals. These Medarots include Ikki's Metabee, Rokusho, Kouji's Smilodonad, Victor's Warbonnet, Hikaru's Arcbeetle and Tawarama's Empress Patra (whose Medaforce mimics Metabee's due to an Alien Medal),. Notably, Smilodonad uses a Mass-Produced Medal: this development is explained in the final episode where Dr. Medarot notes that the power of Metabee's Rare Medal unleashed the potential in mass-production Medals, although this line is obmitted from the English dub.

Medarot Damashii

Medarot Damashii ignores the development in the final episode of the previous anime series and continues with the concept of the Medaforce only being usable by Rare Medals and the new concept of First Medals. The Medaforce is showcased in the first episode where Ikki and Metabee attempts to use it to defeat the Death Medarot Gun Desperado, only for it to bounce off harmlessly. It is explained by Nae that the Medaforce taps into a Medarot's emotional component and as such is ineffective against the emotionless Death Medarots, although the Medaforce returns to greater efficiency as the series progress.

There is a significant change in how Medaforce is executed—a massive beam blast emitted from the Medarots' hands, a trait shared by Metabee and Dorcus. Two Medarots using the Medaforce can also combine it in a stream to make it even more powerful. Yuuzuru's Dorcus, Ginkai's Arcbeetle-Dash, and Kokuryuu's Blackbeetle are shown using the Medaforce throughout the course of the series. Despite being a Death Medarot, Blackbeetle is able to use it due to her having one-of-a-kind emotional Medal.
