Air-Ptera (エアプテラ) is a pteranodon-type Medarot that first appeared in Medarot 2.

Description

Air-Ptera is a flying Medarot specialized in grappling attacks. With its head part it can reveal any hiding opponents, and with its arms it can attack like if they were swords. In most of the Medabots media it is seen as a member of the Select Corps.

In the games

In Medarot 2

Air-Ptera is seen as a member of the Select Trio, alongside with Attack-Tyranno and Landbrachio. It does not play a bigger role in these games, though. Later, in Medarot 3, it is replaced by Sky-Ptera as its upgraded version.

In the anime

Appearing similar in shape to military jet aircraft, Air-Ptera Medarots are shown in the Medarot anime series with wings attached to their backs. The Pocket Sword and Microsword are used for a different purpose - instead of close-combat, the Left- and Right-Arms of the Air-Ptera are used to grip spherical incendiary explosives which are then released (seemingly often in mass numbers) from a higher altitude onto the area of a target. This tactic is listed in the dub as PTL-162012's specialty, the Bomb Attack.

It appeared when Giant Emperor was wreacking havoc towards the city. The Select Corps were trying to stop it, and an army of Land-Brachios, Attack-Tyrannos and Air-Pteras appeared to stop it.
