A-Burage (ア・ブラーゲ), known in English as Foxuno, is a fox (or "kitsune")-type Medarot from the original Medarot game.

Description

A-Burage visually resembles a Japanese swordsman, with swords on both arms, a mask, and leg parts styled after a Hakama (a garment traditionally worn in martial arts). However, it is also heavily based on a fox, or kitsune, which are often depicted as tricksters and shapeshifters in Japanese folklore. Its counterpart Medarot, A-Gedama, is based on a tanuki, which is an animal with a similar significance.

The name A-Burage comes from abura-age (deep-fried tofu), which is considered to be a kitsune's favourite food. The name of its head part, Mikazuchi, most likely comes from Takemikazuchi.

In the anime

A-Burage was a Medarot used by the Roborobo Gang when they were masquerading as a professional renovation service. It was used to demolish the buildings that they were performing renovations on, and was paraded around as a minor deity that the Roborobo Gang would be blessed by in order to gain the confidence of their clients.

A-Burage was defeated quickly after Ikki challenged them to a battle to stop them from harassing his family into renovating their house. The battle ended with Metabee blasting A-Buraage with a Missile at point blank range, and Ikki claimed A-Burage's Rapier part for winning.

In the games

A-Burage is a two-legged Medarot with Sword attacks on its arms and a Break attack on its head.

In the early games, its legs make it much more suited to physical attacks than ranged ones (like Break), but all of its parts have a good balance of armor, speed, and power. In Medarot 2 Core its stats were changed to make it roughly equal in shooting and physical attacks.

In Medarot 1

In Medarot 1, A-Burage's parts can be obtained from random battles, or bought from a convenience store in the shopping district in either version.

In Medarot 2

A-Burage's parts aren't normally obtainable in Medarot 2, and instead need to be traded over from Medarot 1.

In Medarot 2 CORE

A-Burage is first seen when Ikki tails a Roborobo into an abandoned factory. From that point it frequently appears as a leader against common Roborobo opponents.
