This page will walk you through the format to use when writing Medarot pages.

Sample Medarot (サンプルメダロット), known in English as Samplebot, is an example-type Medarot that first appeared in one of the games.

Include the Medarot's name (bolded), the name spelled in Japanese (in brackets), its English-version name if available (also bolded), a simple statement of what it's based on, and the game/media it first appeared in.

Description[edit]

Sample Medarot looks like something, and has some notable features. It has a main function or form of attacking that should be described here. Any game-specific info like attack names should not be included here, as this section is for describing features that are (or would be) the same across every piece of media it appears in.

Sample Medarot is based on something, and appropriate links for further reading should be included. Its name origin most likely comes from something in Japanese or English, but if the name origin is unknown, that should be mentioned too. (It can be left out if it's really obvious.) Its part names may also have interesting or unclear name orgins. For example, its leg part "Exempli Gratia" is Latin for "for example".

The writing style for this section can be different, so long as it still contains these points.

In the games[edit]

This is where the Medarot's game-only features should be explained.

Sample Medarot is a bipedal Medarot that focuses on gravity-based attacks. In a particular game, it uses Break attacks, while in another it uses Press. Its stats give it certain features that make it better for certain purposes.

In Medarot 1, 2, R, and 2 Core, Sample Medarot's parts have the Gravity attribute, which matches with the Bear Medal.

This is meant to be a summary of what the Medarot is like in the games, with an explanation of any major changes over time. If it only appears in one game, mention that, and put the rest of its information here instead of in the game-specific subheadings below.

In a specific game[edit]

In this specific game, Sample Medarot has these features. It can be obtained somehow, for example in random battles in a certain area, or by buying it from a specific store.

This is where information that is really specific to a certain game should go. You might want to mention how it features into the story, how it compares to other Medarots in the game, and strategies for using it or fighting against it. You should also explain how to obtain the Medarot if possible. It's alright if this part of the page sounds more walkthrough-ish than the rest, but keep it within reason.

The template for the Medarot's stats in the game should also go here, after the paragraph(s) describing it. Stat templates are game-specific and have explanations of how to fill them in written on their template pages. (The page for Medarot 1's template is here, and has links to the other game templates.)

In another specific game[edit]

^ Repeat this for every game it appears in.

In the anime[edit]

Sample Medarot appeared in this episode of the anime series and these are the events that transpired.

It also appeared briefly in this episode of Medarot Damashii, and this is what happened.

Please specify which anime series you're talking about if at all possible. (Medarot Damashii is anything from "season 3" of the dub.) Summaries can be detailed, but keep it specific to the Medarot in question.

In the manga[edit]

Sample Medarot appeared in this chapter of a specific manga series, and this is what happened.

This should be similar to the anime section. Note that the order of these sections (games, anime, manga) can be changed on a page-by-page basis if it has an especially important role in the anime or manga, but the game section should usually be put first.

Other sections[edit]

Sections about other things such as Cards, Merchandise, and anything else can be added as needed on a page-by-page basis, so long as it doesn't fall under any of the above sections. (Note that this doesn't mean adding a section to the page titled "Other sections".)

Most trivia can be included somewhere in the Description section, so a "Trivia" section should not be necessary.

Image gallery[edit]

This section should go near the bottom of the page, but before the related Medarots section. It should contain a "gallery", which can be added using the following code:

<gallery widths=144>
File:Filename1.gif|Caption for image 1
File:Filename2.jpg|Caption for image 2
File:Filename3.png|Caption for image 3
</gallery>

...And so on. Any uploaded image file can be used.

Images should be placed in the general order of sprites, 3D models, anime appearances, manga appearances, other artwork, cards, and merchandise. All sprites and artwork should be included in the gallery so that they can be properly labeled, even if they are used somewhere else on the page (like the infobox).

Related Medarots[edit]

This section goes at the very bottom of the page and includes links to other Medarots that are similar or related somehow. It includes the template Navbox-Type which makes a small table for listing Medarots with the same motif, along with their model numbers. The models do not need to match exactly! (ALI and ALN are both "alien", for example.)

Some large groups of Medarots, such as the KBT/KWG and zodiac Medarots, have pre-made navigation boxes that should be used instead of Navbox-Type.

As an example, the related Medarots section on Cyandog's page looks like this:

Dog-type Medarots
DOG-0 Cyandog
DOG-1 Bluesdog
DOG-2 Purple Collar
DOG-0CH Brutis
DOG04 Cobalt Setter

You might want to include links to Medarots that appear together in the story (like Cyandog, Magentacat, and Yellowturtle), Medarots with a similar purpose in the games, or Medarots that are meant to be a direct counterpart. If there are no other Medarots in the series with a matching motif (like "Dog" or "Gryphon"), you should still include the Navbox-Type template with only one Medarot to show that it's the only one.

Category links (to categorize the page) should be placed directly after the navigation box, at the very bottom of the page.
