He is something of a predecessor to Kagamiyama, having a similar role, appearance, and preference in Medarots.

In the games[edit]

Medarot[edit]

Kubota's portrait in the Medarot Game Boy manual.

Kubota is a classmate of Hikaru. At the beginning of the game, he is found bullying Kirara with Yanma and stands by as Yanma challenges Hikaru to a Robattle. If Hikaru wins the fight against Yanma, Kubota challenges him with Yellowturtle. If Hikaru fails or surrender, the story progresses as it normally would.

After Hikaru defeats Yanma and gains access to the Medarot Company arena, Kubota is found blocking a path to the shopping district. When talked to, he tells Hikaru he would be better off taking care of monkeys in the mountains. After Hikaru defeats Inago and comes back, Kubota is confused and starts a Robattle with Yellowturtle again. He must be defeated to progress.

He is the second opponent in the City Tournament, using three Yellowturtles (some mixed in with Cyandog parts).

In the final portion of the game, Kubota and the other Bad Kids appear to cover Hikaru when he fights Suzume in the Select Headquarters. If, after this, Hikaru returns to the hidden room where the three captured scientists were and goes to the seemingly empty spot on the bottom left, Iseki and the other Bad Kids will appear and complain their dramatic entrance has been ruined.

Kubota's role is identical in the game's remake Medarot Perfect Edition, though he is given additional dialogue.

Medarot S[edit]

Kubota is one of the unlockable medarotters in Medarot S, giving a power-up for Laser attacks.
