Rollstar (ロールスター), known as Stingray in English, is a RAY-type Medarot that first appears in Medarot 1. Its design is based on a crayfish.
Description
Rollstar is a bright red Medarot with a lobster/crayfish motif. It has wheels on its feet (hence the "Roll" in its name), and can fire lasers from its claw-like hands.
The name comes from a combination of "roll" and "lobster", but the name is always spelled "Rollstar" when printed in English in Japanese media. (-star and -ster are spelled the same in Japanese.) Though it obviously takes inspiration from lobsters, it's officially listed as a crayfish Medarot, which gives it its RAY model number.
The English name Stingray comes directly from the model number. The name is also spelled Stingaray on some merchandise.
In the games
In Medarot 1
It is used by Hikaru's rival, Yuuki.
In Medarot 2
It must be transferred from Medarot 1. Hachiro has Hoppingstar in this game.
In Medarot 2 Core
Hachiro uses Rollstar here.
Rollstar appears again using its design from the Medarotter Rintarou manga. Its head can be found shortly after arriving; the three other parts are given to Kasumi after completing the Medatown dome near the top of Cluster.
In the anime
Rollstar is used by a boy named Nathan. He and Ikki's Metabee fought together with Kikuhime's Peppercat and Arika's Brass.
