Pupa Beetle (プーパビートル) is a rhino beetle-type Medarot that only appears in Medarot Navi.

Description[edit]

Unlike every other entry in the KBT series, Pupa Beetle doesn't much resemble a rhinoceros beetle or a Medabot at all; rather, its Head part is a glowing orange bundle of energy. Each Arm appears to be a beetle larva and its Legs are simply more energy. Its attacks are identical to those of others in the KBT series - Missile head, Rifle arm and Gatling arm - but are fairly weak compared to Kantaros or Saikachis.

Things change greatly when Power Medachange enters the picture. Energy becomes matter and weak becomes strong as a miniature Granbeetle is born. Its Missile is replaced with Scope, passively giving it perfect accuracy while stationary, and its Rifle and Gatling are given much greater strength.

The requirements for Medachange are their weakness - strip them of a part before they can grow into a serious threat.

In the games[edit]

In Medarot Navi[edit]

Pupa Beetles, along with their Pupa Stag buddies, appear in great numbers in the game's final chapter alongside the five Fossil Medarots: Mono-Cruziana, Di-Tyranno, Tri-Ptera, Quar-Brachio and Zero-Suicide. They also share some of the fossils' aesthetic, particularly the striping on their arm cannons.

Of note is that Pupa Beetle shares the same model number as Granbeetle. Could this be more than coincidence?
