Arcbeetle (アークビートル) is a hercules beetle-type Medarot that first appears in Medarot R as an upgrade to Kantaros. It appears in the Medarot anime, where it is the Medarot used by Space Medarotter X, as well as in the Medarot R manga where it is owned by Rintarou.
Arcbeetle's name comes from the electric arc that forms between its two horns when it fires its trademark Beam attack.
Description
As a KBT-type Medarot it is specialized in shooting skills. Its head part, however, is not compatible with the same medal its other parts are. But, it is powerful enough to deal an impressive ammount of damage. It has one use in Medarot R, Medarot 4, Medarot Navi and Medarot DS, two in Medabots AX and Medarot G and four in Medarot Brave.
His Beam type is a Penetration High Power Beam.
Arcbeetle's counterpart was supposed to be Tyrrellbeetle. However, he was later paired with Arcbeetle's successor, Arcbeetle-Dash, leaving Arcbeetle as the only unpaired KBT-type. Until, Titanbeetle was released in Medarot 8 as a DLC.
Arcbeetle used to hold the record for being the most powerful Beam attack. This record is now taken by Leo, where his head part Pride is slightly stronger, due to being a Sniping type medapart, while Prominence is just plain Shooting type.
In the games
In Medarot 3
Three of them appear as Kaitou Retort's Medarots after the player defeats Black Devil, each equipped with a Witch medal.
In Medarot 4
It appears as one of the Medarots controlled by Rintarou, among others like Kantaros and DonDoguu. Arcbeetle also appears with a Witch medal.
Library description: Hercules Beetle Type Medabot. It's a heavyweight beetle!
Arcbeetle is used by Phantom Renegade. His parts also appear during Randomize actions (like those of Flackline, Dityrano or Scorpio).
In Medarot Brave
Arcbeetle is unlocked by inserting Medarot 2 Core Kabuto Version on the Game Boy Advance connected through Game Cube Link Cable.
In Medarot DS
It is owned by Ikki. It is as of yet unknown if this is the same as Ikki's Metabee. You must collect all of the Medal shards and Medalias, talk to Ikki in the Morokoshi Convenience Store and go to your room. After a cutscene with Kaitou Retort go to the Settings in the menu and change whatever you want. Afterwards head to the abandoned plant at the north of Morokoshi Town and go inside. Kaitou Retort will have Arcbeetle.
It can be also obtained through Medagacha.
Its model number is now KBT04-M.
In the anime
Arcbeetle is the Medarot commanded by Space Medarotter X, although he is also seen to be used by his alternate identities Hikaru and Phantom Renegade. Arcbeetle is proficient in both long and short range attacks which are further augmented by strong spirit and bond with his Medarotter. Arcbeetle is seen to possess a Kabuto medal at the 4th-tier evolution. Although he says little during his appearances, he is strong and heroic, loyal to his Medarotter and fiercely resists criminals such as the Roborobo Gang.
Arcbeetle possesses two different special moves. The first, his Tri-Cannon attack, allows Arcbeetle to blast fireballs at his opponents in three different directions via his Right- and Left-Arm parts, the Ignition and Explode respectively. Arcbeetle's preferred finishing attack, however, utilizes his Head part, the Prominence. Using the Prominence requires Arcbeetle to charge up for the subsequent blast by unlocking what is presumed to be an array of high-intensity solar photovoltaic modules. During Arcbeetle's Prominence "Power-Up Sequence" he cannot move and is therefore vulnerable to any strikes made by an enemy. Once power-up is complete, Arcbeetle can then utilize his Head part to deliver to his enemies one devasting, concentrated blast of energy harnessed from "The Power of the Midnight Sun"; "The Pillar of Fire"... The Prominence!!!
In the manga
Rintarou's Kantaros keeps continuously being defeated by Ikki's Metabee. This forced Rintarou to give up all of his Medarot's parts. Soon enough, his friends suggested him to make a custom KBT Medarot. He made the designs, and someone from the Medarot Corporation got the designs. After a short time, Rintarou received Arcbeetle's Parts. However, he is still being called Kantaros.
