Fortate (フォルテイト) is a Bass.EXE-type Medarot that was that was added to Medarot S as part of a collaboration with the Mega Man Battle Network series. The RME model number is from "RockMan.EXE," the Japanese name of the franchise, and Fortate's name is based on Forte, Bass's Japanese name.
Description[edit]
Fortate is inspired by the NetNavi Bass.EXE. It closely resembles Bass, but with a mouthless white face instead of the original's humanlike face, its right arm permanently in the form of the head of the Super MultiBug Organism Gospel, and its trademark brown cloak made of sections of brown armor instead of actual cloth. It attacks by shooting from the mouth of the Gospel hand or emitting energy from its hand or chest.
Fortate's part functions in Medarot S are:
Part | Name | Type | Action |
---|---|---|---|
Head: | Dark Program | Shooting | Destroy |
Right arm: | Gospel Breath | Shooting | Longshot |
Left arm: | Air Burs | Shooting | Break |
Legs: | Black Aura | Hover | Pupa |
Its head part is named after the Ultimate Program of Darkness that Bass.EXE obtained, while its arms are named after two of his signature attacks, the Gospel Breath that shoots flames from the summoned head of the Super MultiBug Organism Gospel, and Air Burst, a buster attack that shoots randomly all over the enemy's area. The legs, "Black Aura," are named after one of Bass.EXE's special defensive abilities, which can be acquired in some Battle Network games in the form of a Giga Chip.
Fortate is the first medarot to have a part with the Longshot Action, a shooting attack that does more damage the further back the target is toward the Command Line.

Origin[edit]
Fortate is based on Bass.EXE (Forte.EXE in Japan), a character from the Mega Man Battle Network series, an RPG series originally released for the Game Boy Advance. He is one of MegaMan.EXE's rivals and one of the most powerful and dangerous NetNavis on the Internet, often serving as a post-game superboss. Bass.EXE is a parallel universe counterpart to Bass from the original Mega Man series.
Unlike his original counterpart, Bass.EXE was created by Dr. Cossak as part of a project to develop an independent NetNavi, or AutoNavi. Due to a series of internet errors caused by Alpha, Bass.EXE was unfairly blamed and subjected to a cruel deletion attempt. Surviving this ordeal, Bass.EXE became an autonomous NetNavi, driven by anger and resentment towards humanity. He adopted a survival-of-the-fittest mentality, destroying other Navis and assimilating their powers.
