Granbeetle (グランビートル) is a rhino beetle-type Medarot that first appeared in Medarot Navi.

Description[edit]

Granbeetle is Kasumi Asano's principal Medarot in the Kabuto version of Medarot Navi. Its Right Arm carries a fast Rifle weapon while its Left features a strong Gatling. While it does feature a Missile attack, it is not on the Head part but a Medachange Drive; in its place is Rifle cannon that does not feature the perfect accuracy of Bomb attacks, powerful though it is. Its Leg part is Two-Legged.

Capable of Medachange, Granbeetle can take on the form of a hover tank. In addition to its Leg Type, Float, its Drive A is a Missile weapon. Drives B and C allow it to both Set and Fire a X-Attack, giving it substantial solo attack power (though having outside support would remove the limitation of only being able to X-Attack Fire every other turn).

In the games[edit]

In Medarot Navi[edit]

Shortly after having his East Medal stolen, Kasumi Asano is compelled to visit the Old School by a mysterious voice. Underneath its gymnasium is a small cave housing a lost Kabuto Medal alongside the mysterious plant-alien, Mistral.

Kasumi gets a chance to use this Medal when the space station Cluster is set adrift during the class field trip. Locked inside an armored vault by fellow student Shiden Murasame, who wants Kasumi to confess what Mistral said to him, Kasumi agrees to test Granbeetle just as a duo of security Medarots bear down on him. Using his new Medal to take command of the dormant Medarot, Kasumi wins the Robottle and utilizes the Medaforce to blast the door open.

The two remain together for the remainder of the game, with Kasumi leveraging Granbeetle's abilities at several points throughout the story. Realizing the Medarot does not truly belong to him, Kasumi leaves a note on the laboratory doors apologizing for the trouble.

In Medarot 8[edit]

Granbeetle makes a reappearance in Medarot 8 as a DLC-exclusive Medarot. It appears along with Windclap, Teppen, and Sailormate in the fourth DLC mission, which can be downloaded for 300 yen ($2.40).

Its model number is now KBT08-C and the "C" signify having a Medachange.
