SwordBlues (ソードブルース) is a ProtoMan.EXE-type Medarot that was added to Medarot S as part of a collaboration with the Mega Man Battle Network series. The RME model number is from "RockMan.EXE," the Japanese name of the franchise, and Swordblues' name comes from Sword and Blues, the Japanese name of ProtoMan.
Description[edit]
Swordblues is inspired by the NetNavi ProtoMan.EXE. It closely resembles ProtoMan, but with a Medarot-style white face instead of the original's human-like facial features, the white piece also being a possible nod to the original's Battle Mask, with its right arm in sword mode with the blade inactive outside attacks, and the left arm always with its Proto Shield active. It attacks by using the blade on its right arm or its head, and can guard against opponents' attacks with its shield arm.
Swordblues' part function in Medarot S are:
Part | Name | Type | Action |
---|---|---|---|
Head: | Tonkari Head | Melee | Charge Drain |
Right arm: | Fumikomi Saber | Melee | Tsujigiri |
Left arm: | Surprise Guard | Defense | Charge Guard |
Legs: | Official | Bipedal | Auto Charge |
Its head part is named after the Japanese term Tongari (尖んがり), meaning "sharp", referring to how ProtoMan's Helmet has a sharp-pointed crest at the top, while its right arm is named after the noun form of the Japanese verb Fumikomu (踏み込む), meaning "step in" or "lunge", referring to ProtoMan's more aggressive combat style of rushing in to slash the opponent. The left arm is based on the Proto Shield, a shield ProtoMan uses in Battles that reflects the damage of an attack back at the user. The name of the legs, "Official", is in reference to how ProtoMan and his Operator, Eugene Chaud, are Official Netbattlers in the series.
Swordblues is the first Medarot to have both the Charge Guard and Tsujigiri, Charge Guard focusing attacks on a Medarot and their specific part until it breaks or the gauge runs out, with a damage reduction at maximum Medaforce charge, and Tsujigiri doing extra damage when attacking an opponent on cooldown.

Origin[edit]
SwordBlues is based on ProtoMan.EXE (Blues.EXE in Japan), a character from the Mega Man Battle Network series, an RPG series initially released for the Game Boy Advance. ProtoMan.EXE is Eugene Chaud's NetNavi and serves as MegaMan.EXE's primary rival throughout the series.
As his name suggests, he is a parallel universe counterpart of Proto Man from the original Mega Man series, who also initially served as a rival. Unlike his original counterpart, ProtoMan.EXE is not MegaMan.EXE's brother. Despite his Western name, he is not the prototype of the NetNavis. His design, featuring long hair and a primary focus on swords, makes him more similar to Zero from the Mega Man X series.
