Oil Clay (オイルクレー) is a Tachikoma-type Medarot that was added to Medarot S as part of a collaboration with Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. The Model Number "KKS" comes from the japanese name of the anime, 攻殻機動隊 SAC_2045 (Koukaku Kidoutai: SAC_2045). "Oil Clay" is a reference to the Tachikomas enjoying consuming oil (Clay is an alternate romanization of Kuree, an impolite form of Kurau (食らう), which is the verb for consuming).
Description[edit]
Oil Clay resembles a Tachikoma very closely, being a blue spider-like tank, but it's smaller and with a proportionally larger head and smaller "abdomen." Its arms are not quite symmetrical; the right arm has rounded fingers, while the left arm has angular, less-flexible claws.
Oil Clay's part functions in Medarot S are:
Part | Name | Type | Action |
---|---|---|---|
Head: | Optical Camouflage | Assist | Stealth |
Right arm: | Chaingun | Shooting | Gatling |
Left arm: | Grenade | Shooting | Napalm |
Legs: | Thinking Tank | Multi-leg | Adapter |
Its head part's name refers to the Thermal-Optical Camouflage that the Tachikomas can use to become effectively invisible, while the arms are simply descriptions of what kind of weapon they are, which are weapons attached to the Tachikomas in Ghost in the Shell. Its legs are named after the Tachikomas' designation as "Thinking Tanks" due to their onboard AI, which allows them to function independently.
