This page describes the Medarot model found in Medarot DS onwards. For other Metabee models, see Metabee. For information on the character itself, see Metabee (character).
Metabee (メタビー), short for Metal Beetle (メタル・ビートル), is the original rhino beetle-type Medarot. The model number KBT00-M specifically refers to the version of Metabee that appears in Medarot DS and all subsequent games.
Description[edit]
Although essentially the same model of Medarot, this version of Metabee can usually be distinguished from the versions used by Hikaru and Ikki by its lighter yellow/orange body (similar to KBT-1) combined with the ends of its shoulder pieces being colored white or pale yellow (much like KBT-0). The names for its head and arm parts have been changed to Meta-Missile, Meta-Revolver, and Meta-Machinegun, but its leg part name is unchanged.
Unlike previous versions of Metabee, KBT00-M favors its left arm's machine gun for fast, light attacks, and uses its right arm for more carefully aimed shots, making it "left-handed" in comparison to other Metabee models.
In Medarot 9, this version of KBT00-M was reclassified as KBT01-M due to its similarity to Ikki's KBT-1 model. A new version of Metabee labeled KBT00-M was added in its place, with a brown coloration similar to Hikaru's KBT-0.
In the games[edit]
The KBT00-M version of Metabee is the player's starter Medarot in the Kabuto versions of Medarot DS, 7, 8, Dual, and Girls Mission. It can only be obtained in the Kuwagata version by trading parts or by winning link battles.
Like other versions of Metabee, it has a Missile attack on its head, Rifle on its right arm, and Gatling on its left. However, its left arm now uses the Shoot skill, while its right arm Rifle is more powerful and uses Snipe.
In Medarot DS[edit]
Its model number is now KBT00-M. At the beginning of the game, after Azuma sees his friends Chitose and Taruto defeated by The Willows, his dog leads him home and points him to a Kabuto Medal sitting in his dad's office. Azuma decides to borrow the Medal, and quickly runs off to purchase a Tinpet and parts from Ikki, who works at the local convenience store. Although Azuma doesn't have quite enough money, Ikki makes an exception and sells him Metabee's parts at a discount after seeing the Medal he brought with him. After being shown how to assemble his new Medarot, Azuma runs back to the park to win back Chitose and Taruto's parts.
In the post-game, the player can regain the Medaparts for Metal Beetle by fighting the Roborobo Gang in a Mansion. The Medaparts are in a box behind Sakekasu, Defeat him to gain access to the parts. the Box will contain the parts for KBT00-M Metal Beetle.

In Medarot Dual[edit]
Metabee is first introduced as the Medarot the player must use for their MMF qualification test. After you pass the test and join the MMF, he is assigned to you as your partner Medarot, despite his complaints about being paired up with a beginner.
In Medarot 9[edit]
This game reclassified the previous KBT00-M version of Metabee as KBT01-M, and added a new version of KBT00-M in its place. The new version has a darker brown coloration as opposed to yellow, much like the original KBT-0 model of Metabee used by Hikaru in Medarot 1.
Unlike the KBT01-M model that appears as an antagonist in the game's story, the KBT00-M model can't be obtained during normal gameplay, and was distributed exclusively for Kabuto version players in the game's 10th Spotpass event. Its Kuwagata version counterpart is KWG01-M Rokusho, which was similarly unobtainable.
Stats-wise its parts are identical to KBT01's, except for the legs which have slightly lower armor and higher mobility/shooting.
In Medarot Girls Mission[edit]
Metabee is the partner Medarot of Minori Hojo, the main character in the Kabuto version of the game. Unlike in Medarot 9, KBT00-M Metabee has a yellow color scheme here.
