Jhuk (ジュウーク) is a Hercules beetle-type Medarot that appears in Medarot 9.
Description[edit]
Jhuk looks different from most Kabuto-type Medarots, being mostly white and dark grey in color with orange accents. It has large guns on its forearms, which can rotate back out of the way when not in use, and while it has a tall horn on its head, its head part gun is located in its chest, and can mostly retract into the torso when not in use.
Jhuk is based on the Western Hercules Beetle (Dynastes grantii), known in Japanese as the Grant White Beetle. Its head and arm parts are named after people important to the development of guns in Europe; its head is named after Berthold Schwarz, who is credited with the development of gunpowder, and its arms are named after gunsmiths. The leg part name "Extractor" refers to the part of a firearm that removes spent shells.
Its name comes from Жук (romanized: zhuk), the Russian word for beetle, combined with juu, the Japanese word for gun. The model's name is spelled Жук on some official Medarot merchandise.
In Medarot 9[edit]
In Medarot 9, Jhuk is the protagonist's starting Medarot in the Kabuto version. Its default name is Zipper (ジッパー), and that name is frequently used to refer to the model.
Unlike most Kabuto-type Medarots, Jhuk's head part weapon is a Charge Buster, a powerful weapon that adds its charge gauge percentage to its power. Its arms are Power Rifle and Mega Gatling, which have added abilities (piercing damage and more stable damage output) if their power is raised above a certain level. Its legs are bipedal and have the ability "Outrange", which increases its Medal's effective level against enemies who are less skilled at shooting. Its legs can only support one heavy part without their performance suffering.
