Juke (ジュウーク) is a Hercules Beetle-type Medarot that first appeared in Medarot 9.
Description
Juke looks different from most Kabuto-type Medarots, being mostly grey and dark brown in color with orange accents. It has large guns on its forearms, which can rotate back out of the way when not in use, and while it has a tall horn on its head, its head part gun is located in its chest, and can mostly retract into the torso when not in use.
Juke is based on the Western Hercules Beetle (Dynastes granti), known in Japanese as the Grant White Beetle, explaining its unusual color scheme. Its parts (aside from the legs; an Extractor is part of a rifle) are named after people important to the development of guns in Europe; its head is named after Berthold Schwarz, who is credited with the development of gunpowder, and its arms are named after gunsmiths.
In Medarot 9
In Medarot 9, Juke is the protagonist's starting Medarot in the Kabuto version. Its name is Zipper, and that name is frequently used to refer to the design. Unlike most Kabuto-type Medarots, Juke's head part weapon is a Charge Buster, a powerful weapon that adds its charge gauge percentage to its power. Its arms are Power Rifle and Mega Gatling, which have added abilities (piercing damage and more stable damage output) if their power is raised above a certain level. Its legs are bipedal and have the ability Outrange, which increases its medal's effective level against enemies who are less skilled at shooting. Its legs can only support one heavy part without their performance suffering.
