When Kasumi goes to a test area for [[Granbeetle]]/[[Sonic Stag]], Shiden tries to manipulate the boy into telling him what he knows about Mistral. This proves fruitless, so Shiden locked Kasumi in the test area and behaves in a cruel manner by having security Medarot bear down on him, and leaves.

This again never works as he ends up fighting Kasumi multiple times and loses. In the fight at the Pyramid Block, Shiden reveals that Fubuki is his spy, but Fubuki ultimately sides with Kasumi, who was more of a friend to her than Shiden ever was. After his defeat, Shiden surrenders the key medal and when the group heads to the Star Module, [[Niwaka]] the traitor, kidnaps him.
