Passpoints are required to insert a Password at Omikuji's Medarot Research Lab, which can be done by talking to the [[Premium 2K]] in the big room to the left. Each password inserted costs one Passpoint.

There are 33 Passpoints in the game (althought only 32 are required to obtain all the password-only parts), and they can be obtained in a variety of ways. Most of them will only show up after beating the game's main story, althought some can be collected before that.
