Redrun (ブロッソメイル burossomeiru, Blossomail) is a female DVL-type Medabot that first appears in the Medarot R manga and Medabots Spirit. While it is usually listed as the fourth DVL Medabot, it is considered to be a direct upgrade from Blackram.
Description
Redrun is a fearsome looking Medabot, with devil-like horns and wings, a long tail, and a white face made to look like a skull. The most notable feature of its appearance is its reddish-pink color, which seems out of place on such a dangerous and powerful Medabot. In the manga where it appears, Redrun is shown normally walking on four legs, but has the ability to stand on two. In contrast, when it appears in Medabots Spirit it is completely bipedal, and switches to four legs in its Medachange form. While Medachanged, Redrun opens its "mouth" to reveal two glowing eyes inside.
In Medabots Spirit, Redrun is portrayed and extremely fast, powerful, and resistant to attacks. It wears a golden skull-shaped shield over its left arm, which covers its head like a mask when Medachanged. While Redrun is listed as a female Medabot in the games (likely to match its pink color), this is never mentioned in the manga version, and the english anime dub refers to Redrun as a "he". It is unknown whether it is male or female in the japanese anime.
Redrun's japanese name "Blossomail" comes from Blackmail (Blackram's japanese name) combined with flower blossoms, in reference to its red/pink color. Its english name may be a reference to "redrum" (murder spelled backwards) from Stephen King's novel The Shining.
In the anime
She was created by XtremeTech and designed by Kam as a powerful Kilobot. She appeared in the episodes Redrun-away (爆走！赤い悪魔 bakusou! akai akuma, Explode! The red demon), Once a Medafighter, parts 1 and 2 (立て！ギンカイ tate! ginkai, Stand up! Ginkai and コクリュウの逆襲 kokuryuu no gyakushuu, Kokuryuu's counterattack), Rok's reborn (ドークスの奇跡 dookusu no kiseki, Dorcu's miracle), Thanks for the memories (燃えろ！熱き魂 moero! netsuki damashii, Burn! Spirit of the heat) and Poor Miss Nae (ナエさん My Love nae-san my love, Nae My Love), where Redrun is ultimately given to Banjo.
In the games
In Medarot 4
Redrun is a wild, rampaging Medabot who the player must defeat after Ikki defeats Orochi. After that event, Redrun is badly broken and she must be taken to Professor Aki. When Ikki becomes the Medamaster, Aki will give Ikki Redrun, with all of her parts and a medal.
