Editing Medarot (anime)

Ikki Tenryou is a young boy who loves [[Medarot]]s but does not have the allowance to buy his own. Through a series of coincidences, Ikki stumbles upon a [[Rare Medal|rare]] [[Kabuto Medal]] and purchases an obsolete [[Metabee (KBT-1)|KBT]] set. Ikki's Metabee proves to be surprisingly strong but also much unlike most medarots in personality, being rude, disobedient and with a huge chip on his shoulders. Together with Ikki's childhood friend [[Arika Amazake|Arika]] and her medarot partner [[Sailor-Multi|Brass]], Ikki and Metabee go on a variety of adventures as they help various people and tangle with the RoboRobo Gang, a group of petty [[Medal]] thieves and troublemakers.

After hearing rumors of a "Legendary Medafighter", they befriend the caring-if-quirky [[Karin Junmai|Karin]] and meet [[Kouji Karakuchi|Kouji]], a serious and arrogant Medaroter who grows into Ikki's friendly rival. The pair also acquaint themselves with [[Rokusho (character)|Rokusho]], a wise and honorable wandering medarot whose master is thought to have perished in a fire many years prior. Metabee also becomes the target of the Phantom Retort, a master thief (and actually Ikki's friendly mart cashier [[Hikaru Agata]] in disguise) who has a keen interest in Metabee's Rare Medal.

The duo comes under the notice of master Medarot researcher [[Dr. Medarot]] and Ikki is invited to become his "apprentice". It is learned that Metabee has the ability to perform the [[Medaforce]], a powerful attack thought to only be usable by Rare Medals. After foiling a scheme by the RoboRobo leader [[Dr. Hebereke]] to harness the energy of Metabee's medal and cause a rebellion in medarots equipped with the mass-produced Kabuto medal, Ikki is told he climbed to the #3 national ranking at the last minute, qualifying him for a spot on the World Robottle Championship's Japanese team.

Before the championship begins, a controversial new rule is introduced which allows the victor of a heat to claim the Medals of the losers, a rule that the current world champion [[Victor]] doesn't hesitate to take advantage of. Eventually, the Japanese team win their heats and come to blow with Victor's Kenya team. Metabee and Victor's [[Warbonnet]] execute their Medaforce attack simultaneously, plunging every Medarots witnessing the match in a dreamlike-state. Throughout Metabee's ensuing dream, it is revealed that the Medarots and their Medals are the remnants of an ancient alien civilization that wiped itself out in a war long ago. The RoboRobo leader was one of the few survivor of the civilization and used Victor and the RoboRobo as his pawns, engineering the tournament to remind Medarots of their origins and have them overthrow humanity. However, the plan is ruined when Ikki manges to enter Metabee's dream and snaps him out of it, restoring all of the Medarots to their original condition.

With his plan ruined and his henchmen having deserted him, Dr. Hebereke activates his final trump card, a giant medarot called [[Primity Baby]]. Dr. Medarot has Metabee and the other medarots pilot a giant Metabee mecha he had stashed in case of a crisis. When the mecha's attack have little effect, Metabee ejects the other Medarots and sacrifice himself by launching the mecha at Primity Baby and detonating it. Soon after, [[Alien|alien]]s land with Rokusho's old master [[Dr. Gengoro Fushihara]], taking Dr. Hebereke with them and giving Ikki a ressurected Metabee.

With all seemingly being well, Ikki invites Victor to reprise their match.

When Kikuhime notices him and falls in love with him, Arika advises her on a lovey-dovey plan on the condition that she gives her an exclusive interview.

|colspan="4"|Ikki wins a ticket to [[Shinobic Park]] in a lottery and tries to invite Karin, but for some reason he ends up going with Arika. They couldn't make it in time for the Ninja Show they were looking forward to, and the Ninja House was still under construction, so the two of them kept fighting.

|colspan="4"|One day, Kumagorou, who are training to become Japan's best Medarotter, and his Medarot Kin-Tarou, suddenly arrive at Ikki's house. When Ikki, who does not know him, asks why he came to see him, Kumagorou started talking about "that day."

|colspan="4"|Mr. Rikuun, a florist, has fallen in love with Ms. Masumi. Otokoyama too, but he is fiercely advancing on Ms. Masumi. As Mr. Rikuun is too modest, is this flower out of his reach? At that time, a stalker appears to be following Ms. Masumi around!? Who is he?

|colspan="4"|The RoboRobo Gang's reckless behavior resulted in a complaint against Medarots, and the Medarots brought to school were confiscated! Robattles have been completely banned. For Ikki and his friends, the decision taken by the board of education is unreasonable, so they decided to fight against the PTA...

|colspan="4"|A zoo has opened in the town. Ikki and Arika went in right away, but when they looked closely, they noticed that all of the animals were sleeping and acting strange. Then, among the animals, penguins came out one after another due to the heat.

|colspan="4"|Salami, a member of the RoboRobo Gang, secretly contacted the leader, the true boss of the evil secret organization plotting to conquer the world. Salami received a new order from the leader: Find a Rare Medal and steal it...

|colspan="4"|Ikki gets happy when he received a letter from Karin! He thought it was an invitation for a date, but it turned out that Dr. Medarot showed up with Karin, saying he will give the two a tour in the Medarot Company.

|colspan="4"|The phantom thief Retort captures Metabee and attempts to steal his Medal. However, Rokusho appears and saves Metabee. One day, Dr. Medarot shows to Metabee the Medarot LadyJet practicing aerial flight, and he requests them to practice together.

|colspan="4"|Aika, who lives alone in a large estate and protects a zelkova tree, is an oddball in the neighborhood and is rumored to be hiding a treasure. Rokusho was seen leaving Aika's house. For Rokusho, the zelkova tree brings back fond memories of his past.

|colspan="4"|Kouji has been dissatisfied with how close Ikki and Karin have been lately. Meanwhile, Ikki is invited by Karin to the Hanazono Academy costume party. Ikki is in a good mood, but Metabee and Arika decided to follow him...

|colspan="4"|Following orders from their leader, the RoboRobo Gang attempted to attack children to steal their Medals, but Rokusho appeared and they are helpless against him. When the leader heard Rokusho's name, he said that Rokusho has a real Rare Medal and began to move forward with his plan.

|colspan="4"|Beast Master, a Medabot from the RoboRobo Gang, appears, and Rokusho, who has exhausted his power, is captured. Rokusho is finished off and taken away along with his Medal. Ikki wants to know more about Rare Medals, so he learns about their history from Dr. Medarot.

|colspan="4"|The progress of the National Robattle Rankings, which also serves as the selection for Japan's representatives for the World Robattle Cup, has been announced. Ikki was ranked 3rd and is overjoyed, but when he learned that Kouji was in 2nd place, he became fiercely competitive.

|colspan="4"|Ikki was lured by a good smell and followed it, finding his favorite food there, a takoyaki shop. Nadako, the takoyaki shop owner, boasts that it is the best in Osaka, if not the best in the world, but Ikki, a takoyaki enthusiast, is not satisfied, saying that the octopus is too big.

|colspan="4"|The next morning after snow has fallen overnight, Ikki and his friends are on their way to school when Kikuhime challenges them to a snowball fight. Because they fought seriously and became obsessed with it, they rushed to school and entered through the back door, only to find that the school was temporarily closed.

|colspan="4"|Ikki finds Iwanoi collapsed on the riverbank. Cyandog ran away from home, leaving behind a letter. Kikuhime says that this is because he was disappointed with his unskilled master Iwanoi, who is at the bottom of the Robattle Rankings this week, but Cyandog has other reason.

|colspan="4"|Mysterious Medarots appeared, aiming for Metabee's Rare Medal. But on the other hand, Metabee is attacking the Medarots in the town. Ikki and Metabee don't know anything about it, and they think there might be a fake out there.

|colspan="4"|When Metabee's Rare Medal was about to be stolen by Salami, a mysterious Medarot appeared. He is from Space Medarotter X, the number one in the national Robattle Rankings. Ikki and his friends were easily defeated Salami, being unable to do anything.

|colspan="4"|Kouji asked Dr. Medabot to teach him the Medaforce. However, he is told that unless he has a Rare Medal, it is impossible for him to bring out the Medaforce. Before Kouji is discouraged, Space Medarotter X appears and tells him that there is a way to fight against opponents with Rare Medals even without the Medaforce.

|colspan="4"|Space Medarotter X became Kouji's master, and Kouji asked him to teach the Shadow Sword, an agile technique that can block the opponent's next move, including the Medaforce. Kouji started a rough training deep in the mountains, but he is not very good at it.

|colspan="4"|Ikki's mother, Chidori, was kidnapped by the RoboRobo Gang. The RoboRobo Gang's objective is Metabee's Rare Medal. Ikki needs two more wins to participate in the Robattle World Tournament. The remaining time is 3 hours... However, Ikki, alongside Metabee, must rescue his dear mother.

|colspan="4"|Ikki needs only one more win to qualify for the world tournament, and decides to fight Space Medarotter X. Despite being rivals, Kouji and Rintarou lended Medarot Parts for him, and he also receives a special gift from Arika...?! With everyone's support, the Robattle begins.

|colspan="4"|Metabee was taken away to the leader of the RoboRobo Gang. In order to take back Metabee, Ikki and Kouji have Salami, who was betrayed by his companions, guide them to the RoboRobo Gang's hideout. It is in the Miyama Ruins, where pictures of Medarot were drawn, and several Medals were buried.

|colspan="4"|Rokusho appears in front of Ikki and his friends. Rokusho did not knew that Metabee had been captured, and said he came to stop the evil deeds of the RoboRobo Gang. Meanwhile, the doctors pinpointed the location of the mysterious radio waves emitted by the RoboRobo Gang.

|colspan="4"|A gigantic Medarot appeared from the Miyama Ruins. Ikki and his friends have no place to escape. Karin asks Dr. Medarot for help, but the helipad is destroyed and he is unable to go to the rescue. Together with the phantom thief Retort and Rokusho, Metabee confronts the giant Medarot.

** The Medabot's model number, which were absent in the Japanese airing, were included. The numbers are usually based on those of the games but include more digits. For example, Metabee changed from KBT-1 to KBT-11220.

* The anime states that Medaforce is an ability exclusive to rare medals and that clone medals are incapable of such feat (Although this is later contradicted with Smilodonad being capable of using Medaforce). In the games, any medal is capable of use Medaforce.

** Also, in the games a Medarot is capable of using up to three different Medaforces, while in the anime a Medarot apparently can only use one.

** Primity Baby's gigantic size and Metabee's gigantic body never happened in Medarot 2 or R. But there's a giant Primity Baby in Medarot 3 under different circumstances.
