Medal Eater is a Medarot that first appeared as a boss-only Medarot in Medarot 9. It could be first obtained in Medarot S.

In Medarot 9

Medal Eater is the true antagonist of Medarot 9. The Principal of MEDA Academy explains that it was an extraterrestrial being that crash landed on the island millions of years ago. While it remained dormant deep underground, it grew a thick shell of Medalium around itself. The resonance emitted from the Medalium could control stray Medarots on the island to bring it a supply of Medals to feast on. Following unsuccessful attempts to destroy the monster, the Principal installed a sound wave emitting device that would keep the Medalium shell intact, effectively trapping Medal Eater underground. When the Roborobo gang break into the mine and discover Medal Eater, it begins reawakening, attacking with its Medalium appendages and controlled Medarots. After the Exploration Club and friends escape from the mine, Medal Eater rises out of the ground next to the school. While it is kept at bay by a joint attack from the school clubs, its regenerating shell proves to potent to allow any meaningful damage. The Exploration Club follow the Principal to the area underneath his office as he explains his device's role in keeping Medal Eater at bay. In order to provide the chance to deal some real damage, the device is disabled and Medal Eater's shell quickly breaks apart. The newly freed Medal Eater quickly overpowers the club leading the charge, devouring their Medals in the process. Descending into the school courtyard, it reveals one final power; a laser capable of crippling Medals while keeping Medaparts intact. In this final battle, Metabee/Rokusho volunteers to block the laser fire, as their Medal is being kept functional via sheer force of will. The combined efforts of the Exploration Club, the Principal and Metabee/Rokusho manage to overcome Medal Eater, destroying it once and for all and freeing the Medals trapped within.
