The Ten Days of Darkness ( 魔の十日間 Ma no Tōkakan ) is a major incident in the Medarot world that can be described as a terrorist attack provoked by Roborobo Gang, with local or global repercussion, depending on the media.

In the games[edit]

In Medarot[edit]

The incident happens in the later stages of the game. The Medarot rampage incident broke out just as Hikaru Agata had repaired his Medarot medal at the ruins. Strange waves were emitted from the Select Headquarters building, causing Medarots with Select Medals to go berserk. Hikaru infiltrated the Select building with his friends, deactivated the barrier and rampage systems, and defeated Taiyo and the Beast Master.

While the Rampage System is ongoing, multiple Medabots can be found in Hikaru's hometown. They will attack when spoken to.

In Medarot 2[edit]

The term "Ten Days of Darkness" is not used, being referred only as a "rampage incident" instead by Dr. Hebereke.

In the mangas[edit]

In Medarot[edit]

Just before the final match of the World Robattle Championship between Hikaru and the Select Corps Commander Taiyo, it was revealed by Tawarama that the Select Corps were actually the Roborobo Gang. After Taiyo, Roborobo Gang Boss Typhoon in disguise, left the Stadium, almost all the Medarots in the town went berserk. This happened because they were using artificial medals sold by the Select Corps, which was in fact the Roborobo Gang infiltrated in the force, who planned this to control all Medarots through "strange waves" emitted from a device located in the roof of the Select Corps building.

During the clash in the World Championship, Hikaru's Metabee was completely destroyed along with its medal by Typhoon's Beast Master, and Hikaru himself lost consciousness for about three months. When he woke up, he realizes his friends' Medarots did not lose control because they also have natural Medals and with their help (and also Aliens), he is able to bring Metabee back to life.

Eventually, Dr. Medarot leads an counter-attack with the children, including Hikaru, and their Medarots, to destroy the Select Corps building where the Robobo Gang is barricade and break the signal that was controlling the Medals. With Taiyo and his minions defeated, the Roborobo Gang was no more and the Medarot rampage ceased, restoring peace.

In Medarotter Rintarou!!![edit]

This event was mentioned by Jick and Hikaru when discussing Rintarou's Kantaros. The main reason why Kantaros acts like a very young child is due to his Kabuto Medal having a stronger Limiter than most Medarots.

In Medarot 2[edit]

The incident is only mentioned as something that happened 12 years before the current story.

Dr. Medarot explains that Roborobo Gang was the responsible of that and as a consequence, the ownership of Medarots became regulated, and Medarots without masters were left without a place to go.

In the anime[edit]

In Medarot[edit]

The incident is described as global crisis that occurred 8 years ago, caused by the accidental clash of rare medals and the resonance of copy medals across the globe.

To prevent the medal resonance, it was necessary to eliminate the rare medal, forcing Hikaru to destroy the medal of his beloved Medabee. It took Hikaru ten days to make this decision (hence the "Ten Days of Darkness").

As a result of this incident, the Medarot Corporation voluntarily recalled Medarots. Safety devices to prevent medal resonance and emergency stop devices were developed. Even though, many people start to see Medarots as something dangerous. The records of the world tournament at that time were mostly lost, and it is referred to as the "Phantom World Tournament".

Years later, Dr. Hebereke tried to replicate this event, failing due to the combined forces of Ikki and the others.
