Escarloader (エスカルローダー), known in English as Snailoader, is a snail-type Medarot that first appeared in the original Medarot game.

Description

Escarloader resembles a snail, with eyes on stalks and a spiral shell-type design on its leg parts. Its legs have wheels on the bottom, allowing it to move with a smooth motion like a snail, albeit much faster. In battle, Escarloader is able to speed itself and its allies up by charging them with electric energy.

Its name comes from escargot (French for snail) and loader, referring to the way it "loads" its allies with energy. The Japanese name for its leg parts (Maimai Tsuburi) comes from a mashup of different Japanese words for snail, specifically maimai and katatsuburi. The origin of its INT model number is unknown.

In the games

Escarloader is a wheeled-type Medarot with Boost Charge actions on its head and both arms. Its legs are among the fastest available, and by using Boost Charge it can increase its speed even further. Although it has no attacking parts, its legs make it reasonably good with shooting attacks.

All of Escarloader's parts have the Time attribute, making it very compatible with the Rabbit Medal.

In Medarot 1

In Medarot 1, Escarloader's parts can be obtained from random battles or bought from a convenience store at the Medal excavation site.

In Medarot 2

Escarloader's parts are not normally obtainable in Medarot 2, and must be transferred over from Medarot 1. Its position as a Boost Charge specialist was instead filled by Sakura-Chan.

In the anime

In episode 8, Escarloader easily defeated Kikuhime's Peppercat, as she was using heavy parts and wasn't able to top Escarloader's speed.
