Game Boy Color (ゲームボーイカラー Gēmubōikarā) is Nintendo's 8-bit handheld gaming device that followed the Game Boy and was eventually succeeded by the Game Boy Advance. Its standout feature, as the name suggests, is its color display. Notably, it is the first Game Boy model without a contrast dial. Like all systems in the Game Boy lineup, it is not region-locked. The Game Boy Color was discontinued in 2003, shortly after the Game Boy Advance SP was introduced.
Medarot games[edit]
The Medarot series continues on the Game Boy Color, starting with Medarot 2. It is especially known for the Ikki Tenryou's game trilogy, although the latest game, Medarot 5, introduces a new cast. The Game Boy Color is perhaps the most significant console for the Medarot series, as it holds the record for the most game releases and, for many years, was the last platform to feature main numerical entries that were not remakes. Because of backward compatibility, all Medarot titles from the original Game Boy can also be played.
