Rintarou's Kantaros

'Kantaros (カンタロス), Model KBT-2020 / KBT-0 Type 2020 / KBT-3X, is the main Medarot used by Rintarou. He is the central Medarot in Medarotter Rintarou!!! and one of the two central Medarots in the manga Medarot R (The other being Ikki's Metabee) He is upgraded to a Medarot of Rintarou's invention, namely the KBT-4X Model Arcbeetle, and is upgraded for the final time to the KBT-6X / KBT-7BX Model Arcbeetle-Dash.

Personality

Kantaros is portrayed as a very young child in aspects outside of robattles, often seen giving a blank stare. He often says "Daze!!" and starts growing after meeting Ikki's Metabee. He often copies Rintarou's actions, as he is actively learning throughout the course of the series.

In Medarot 2 CORE

Kantaros doesn't make a physical appearance here despite the fact that his model exists at this time. It's explained that he is being repaired by Dr. Akihabara.

In the Manga

Medarotter Rintarou!!!

In the manga he hardly speaks. To begin with, his sense of self is not well developed, and he is unable to speak, so he is in a baby-like state in other aspects other than Robattles. Later, he is sent to Ikki's Metabee , and like Rintarou, he begins to say "Daze!" and shows signs of growth. In fact, much earlier than that, when he and Rintarou applied to participate in the Hyper Medarot Tournament , he said "Yubindaze."

Other than that, Kantaros is shown to be very powerful, being able to fire at high speeds and spread the shots he fires, he is extremely fast, with speed that belies the build he has.

According to Jick and Hikaru, Kantaros's Kabuto Medal was born after the Ten Days of Darkness, with an even stronger limiter than most Medals, equipped with anti-robottle combat protection for control against the Rampage System.

Medarot R

Rintarou's Kantaros keeps continuously being defeated by Ikki's Metabee. This forced Rintarou to give up all of his Medarot's parts. Soon enough, his friends suggested him to make a custom KBT Medarot. He made the designs, and someone from the Medarot Corporation, namely Jick, got the designs. After a short time, Rintarou received Arcbeetle's Parts. However, he is still being called Kantaros.

But, Kantaros's baby-like state did not help him, as he got into shameless situations like getting his horns caught in Sensei Tamawo's clothes and tearing them, purely by accident. And also, Kantaros was very weak during Robattles and kept misfiring. As a result Rintarou and Kantaros were sent to train with Ikki and Arika by Jick in hopes of getting Kantaros to develop more and master his new powers.

As a result of this training and the fight with the Roborobo Gang, Kantaros gained his own will and grew to the point were he could shoot Laser attacks using the horns on his head that were the source of his previous troubles.
