Medal
A medal (メダル, "medal" in japanese) is a hexagonal, golden-colored piece that is used to store the mind and soul of a Medabot. They usually have a figure on their center, representing what kind of medal are they. Also, they usually have a letter on their top.
Different kinds of medals will work with different kinds of medaparts, thus making the medafighter choose wisely what part will his or her Medabot wear.

Medarot: Kabuto & Kuwagata
Medals had their first appearance in these games. They had their medal names, a letter describing them and the following characteristics that affected the game overall:
- Rank (ランク, ranku)
- Level (レベル, reberu) (with experience points, けいけんち)
- Characteristics (せいかく, seikaku)
- Attack (こうげき, kougeki) (how much is good the medal with attack parts)
- Defense (ぼうぎょ, bougyo) (how much is good the medal with defense parts)
- Special (とくしゃ, tokusha) (how much is good the medal with special parts)
- Compatibility (あいしょう, aishou) (how much compatibility the medal has with the parts it is compatible)
- Attribute (for example, kabuto medal is compatible with firing parts)
- Skills
- Strike (なぐる, naguru)
- Berserk (がむしゃら, gamushara)
- Shoot (うつ, utsu)
- Aim shoot (ねらいうち, neraiuchi)
- Support (おうえん, ouen)
- Defend (まもる, mamoru)
- Heal (なおす, naosu)
- Other (そのほか, sonohoka)
However, medals didn't have their own name (for example, a kabuto medal named Metabee), but the tin-pets instead.
Medarot 2: Kabuto & Medarot 2: Kuwagata
Medals had some changes for the sequel of the first games. First, medals were added new medaforces. At certain levels, medals could learn medaforces, each having their own effect. For medaforces to be triggered, the Medabot had to gather a certain ammount of medaforce (in these games, the Medabot had to fill its medaforce gauge, specifically 80 MF). Second, the rank was completely removed. And third, a medal could also have a preference at the moment of attacking. For example, kabuto medal has a preference to attack striking parts when attacking.
Medarot 3: Kabuto & Medarot 3: Kuwagata
As the whole game mechanics suffered a change, medals also suffered their own change. Medals won't have every skill available in the game, but just three of them. For example, kabuto medal only has Shoot, Aim Shoot and Settle skills. But, every medal can have three extra skills with special items called "medalias" (メダリア, medaria). Second, skills and compatibility completely changed, and three new skills appeared. These skills are:
- Settle (せっち, secchi)
- Interrupt (ぼうがい, bougai, replaces Other)
- Special (とくしゃ, tokusha)
Third, together with medaparts, medals change how they name their compatibilities. For example, kabuto and kuwagata medals are now compatible with "speed" (そくど, sokudo) parts. Fourth, there are now new medals replacing the old ones, but kabuto and kuwagata medals are still present. Fifth, now medals can boost theirselves depending if a certain medal is present in the team. For example, kabuto and kuwagata medals boost theirselves, and the zaurus and hero medals are boosted by kuwagata medal. Sixth, medaforces can be triggered with a certain ammount of MF instead of the whole gauge filled. And lastly, medals now have their own name instead of the tin-pet.
Medarot 4: Kabuto & Medarot 4: Kuwagata
Mechanics were exactly the same as the previous versions, but now medals can be assigned an autoattack macros (named rotation), assigning a certain move to be chosen for certain turns and then attacks to be repeated in that order.
Medarot 5: Kabuto & Medarot 5: Kuwagata
These games suffered a light change from its predecessor. First, medals can, again, have every skill available to the game, but using the new ones added in Medarot 3, making them 10 skills total. As a consequence of this, medalias disappeared. Second, now medals have a special skill that will trigger if this medal is the leader. Third, medaforce is now named medaskill. And lastly, a new array of medals appeared, but keeping the kabuto and kuwagata ones.
Shingata Medarot: Kabuto & Kuwagata, Medarot 2 CORE: Kabuto & Kuwagata and Medabots: Metabee & Rokusho
Medals have all the skills available to Medarot 2, but Other was replaced by Interrupt. Also, medals have their names instead of the tin-pet.
Medarot NAVI: Kabuto & Medarot NAVI: Kuwagata
Despite the game made a switch from classic RPG to tactics RPG, the mechanics for the medals are exactly the same as Medarot 4, except for the Medalias and including the rotations.
Medarot G: Kabuto & Kuwagata and Medabots AX: Metabee & Rokusho
Medals have 4 skills: Shoot (SHT), Grapple (GRP), Effect (EFT) and Defense (DEF). Each will determine how certain medaparts work. Every medal has just one Medaforce that can be triggered anytime during a battle, as long as the medaforce gauge is full. Also, medals have an AI system that can be selected by the player. This is, the player can give orders to its partner, to make it do whatever the AI wants or to execute a certain movement. For the medal to earn more AI options it must level up.
