Kimengar
Kimengar (キメンガー) is an oni gargoyle-type Medarot that appears in Medarot 8.
Description
Kimengar is a male Oni-type bipedal Medarot modeled after an Onigawara, he is specialized in melee skills. Its armor is thick as a whole. The total armor value is well above that of Tyrrellbeetle and Gun-King.
Its head part are modeled after the japanese word "Kimen", that means demon/oni face or mask of a demon/oni, which is commonly used to refer to onigawara and also hannya masks, used in Japanese Noh theater. The ability of the head part is reckless, which increases the damage of melee parts.
The name of right arm part is "Naguri Zunō" which can mean "hammer head", since naguri is one of the Japanese words for hammer and zunō (ヅノー, ずのう, 頭, 脳) means head or brain, this name alludes to the weapon carried by Kimengar, which is also the characteristic weapon of oni in Japanese culture, The kanabō, which is a heavy "Japanese club" made entirely of iron with iron spikes and it also makes reference to the ability of the right arm itself, which is Break Hammer, that deals more damage based on the number of heavy parts equipped.
The name of left arm part is "Juzu Kakezume" which can mean "Japamala's hanging claws", since juzu (数珠) the Japanese word for japamala, a string of prayer beads similar to Christian rosary commonly used in Buddhism religion, and Kakezume (かけづめ, 懸け爪, 繋け爪) means Hanging claw or Tethered claws, this name alludes to the fact that his left arm part is empty-handed (the hand to hold the japamala) and the fact that the onigawara are built to protect residences from evil spirits , just as japamala can be used to pray to ward off evil spirits. The left arm part ability is Claw, A melee attack that hits 3 times.
The leg part ability is Blood Stain, that grants a power boost based on part rank every time an enemy part is destroyed. The leg's name is "Tomoe Gakeis" which can mean "tomoe in the cliff", since the tomoe (the blue and black symbol on her legs) is a comma-like swirl symbol used in Japanese mon, and gake means cliff, thus, the name alludes to the location of the tomoe at the top of what would be Kimengar's thigh and its shape. the name also alludes to the Onigawara or tile oni, which usually has this symbol next to the oni face.
It also has the ability to Medachange into a Onigawara-like Medarot.
