Talk:Dechotom

Name change[edit]
I changed the name from Dichotom to Dechotom. Its name comes from Allomyrina dichotoma, but it's spelled Dekotomu instead of Dikotomu like you'd expect. I always figured it was an honest mistake, but after looking at the concept art pics, there's an earlier design with comments showing "Dikotomu" (Dichotom) and "Aromiru" (Allomyr) as possible names. The later (final) design on the other hand labels it "Dekotomu" with "DECHOTOM" spelled next to it in English, so the spelling was clearly intentional after all. This leads me to believe the name is a pun on "dichotoma" and "deko, which means "forehead" in Japanese. *nod* ~ Kimbles 10:56, 27 June 2015 (MDT)
