The Mermaid Medal can be received in both versions of Medarot 2 Core. In the Kabuto version, it's the reward for winning the tournament on Medarot Island. In the Kuwagata version, it's received as a gift from Dr. Hebereke after battling him on Medalink at the Medashop.
