Talk:Jhuk
From Medapedia
Name origin
The official M9 merchandise on the Medarotters store spells this guy's "English" name as Жук, which is certainly interesting. Жук (romanized: zhuk) is Russian for beetle, and it looks like that's usually spelled ジューク in Japanese (see the Japanese wiki page for this type of radar called Zhuk). My guess is that the Medarot's name (ジュウーク) is a combination of that and ジュウ (juu) which is Japanese for gun. Mystery solved!
I'm going with Jhuk as the English spelling for now, but if you have any better suggestions feel free to post them! ~ Kimbles 01:17, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
