Element Mark
Element Mark (エレメントマーク) is an element-type Medarot that first appeared in Medarot Navi.
Description
One of the strangest-looking Medarots by far, Element Mark is based on atomic elements - specifically, it resembles a molecular model of formaldehyde, an embalming agent. To match with its chemical instability, Element Mark is a transforming Medarot, capable of changing its parts into those of other Medarots on the fly.
The choice of formaldehyde in the design most likely comes from "formalin", another name for the chemical. When written in Japanese, "formalin" is spelled the same as Horuma Rin, the creator of the Medarot series.
Between its Medarot Navi and Medarot 8 appearances, Element Mark was popularized by Pixiv user Kouichi, who uploaded pictures of various Medarots with Element Mark's Carbon head part equipped. The humorous artwork is likely to have been a factor in its return in Medarot 8, where its transforming mechanics were changed such that it always keeps its Carbon head.
In the games
Element Mark is a hover-type Medarot that uses transforming parts - that is, parts that can change randomly into other Medarot parts.
Notably, Element Mark was a male Medarot in Medarot Navi, but was changed to a neutral Medarot (compatible with both male and female Tinpets) in Medarot 8.
Element Mark is a transforming Medarot - its "head" and "arms", if they can be called that, switch form every turn, giving it a variable and unpredictable set of abilities. Regardless of what form it takes, however, Element Mark is quite resilient, with its head and legs having over 100 HP each. Its "legs" are Hover type, and are the only part of Element Mark's set to remain static.
In Medarot 8
Its model number is now EMT00 and also has a neutral gender.
