Update

Well, I filled in the missing names on the list, but I'm going to avoid adding page links for them for the time being, both here and in related Medarot sections on Medarot pages.

My reasoning is that A) the spelling is still pretty hazy on most of them (which will make updating links a pain), and B) nobody here has played the game enough to have much to say about these guys. >_> I figure we can hold of making any Shingata model pages for a while, at the very least until we have some of their sprites ripped. ~ Kimbles 13:44, 18 June 2014 (MDT)

Name origins

The names in this game seem to come from a mix of English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, and possibly other languages. If you can figure any out that we haven't, please add them here!

1. Strangelo: Strange + angelo (Italian for angel)
2. Deabeil: From French: abeille (bee)
3. Rossonariz: Italian: rosso (red) + Spanish: nariz (nose)
4. Archaeopti: From Archaeopteryx (prehistoric bird)
5. Jatofase: Portuguese: jato (jet) + fase (phase/stage)?
6. Peroscar: Possibly a combination of the names "Pero" and "Oscar"
7. Alto Sonido: Spanish for "high sound"
8. Barrow: Another word for burial mound
9. Capo Pasqua: Italian: capo (head) + Pasqua (Easter)
12. Mauna Draga: Possibly Hawaiian: mauna (mountain) + dragon?
13. Bascurata: Spanish: báscula (scale) + rata (rat)
15. Predicador: Spanish for preacher (as a reference to "praying mantis")
16. Raigno: Possibly from French: araignée (spider)
17. Venenora: From Spanish: veneno (poison)
18. Maciocorpo: Portuguese: macio (soft) + corpo (body)
19. Valentorero: From valente (Italian for talented) + torero (bullfighter)
21. Mordewal: German: mörder (murderer) + wal (whale)
22. Cervo: Probably from Lucanus cervus (a species of stag beetle) and a play on "servo"
23. Beet: From beetle
25. Kampf Maid: From German: kampf (fight) + maid
27. Lunaconey: From luna (moon) + coney (another word for rabbit)
29. Chainbull: Chain + bulldog
40. Dioza: From Spanish: diosa (goddess)
42. Toadeth: Toadstool + death
49. Prodorado: Pro + dorado (Spanish for golden)
55. Phibios: From amphibian
59. Maireign: From mermaid + reign (as in rule)?
