Kanehachi (カネハチ), known in English as Tentaclam, is an octopus-type Medarot that first appeared in the original Medarot game.
Description
Kanehachi resembles a red octopus with 6 tentacles in the place of legs and two more forming its arms. Its "head" actually represents the abdomen of the octopus while the central "body" features a face design. The arms have large anchors attached on wires, which Kanehachi can fire like grappling hooks to slow its opponents down. Its name is printed on its forehead in the form of the kanji symbol for 8 (八, "hachi"), with a smaller symbol above it (¬, read as "kane"). It also has a design around its head representing a headband (or hachimaki), which are often worn by fishermen in Japan.
Its model number CLA most likely comes from a corruption of Kraken, which is the type of Medal its parts are most compatible with. The "clam" in its English name Tentaclam comes solely from its model number, as the Medarot itself has nothing to do with clams.
The name "Tentaclam" was also used to refer to Kanehachi Mk2 in the English version of the anime.
In the games
Kanehachi is a multi-legged Medarot that attacks using Hold attacks to damage and slow its opponents. In Medarot 1, 2, R, and 2 Core, its parts have the Bind attribute, which matches with the Kraken Medal.
In Medarot 1
In Medarot 1, Kanehachi is the sole user of Hold attacks, and one of the two Medarots capable of causing the Bind status (the other being CoffinBat).
Its parts can be obtained early in the game from random battles in the harbor town area, or bought from a convenience store near the Robottle World Championship stadium.

In Medarot 2
In Medarot 2, Kanehachi's parts can only be aquired by transferring them over from Medarot 1. It was replaced by the new OCT-type, Kanehachi Mk2.
In Medarot 2 Core
Kanehachi can be found during random encounters in the Kodine Kingdom.
