Description[edit]

This is a template for Medarots that appear in the video games.

To use the template, put the following text at the top of the article and fill in each section (see below). If you don't know what to put for a section, write ???.

{{Infobox Medarot
| name =
| name-j =
| name-r =
| gender =
| image =
| modelno =
| type =
| headpart =
| headpart-j =
| headpart-r =
| rightpart =
| rightpart-j =
| rightpart-r =
| leftpart =
| leftpart-j =
| leftpart-r =
| legpart =
| legpart-j =
| legpart-r =
| appear-game =
| appear-else =
}}
  • For name, put the translated Japanese name of the Medarot, rather than any English dub names. (eg. Cyandog)
  • For gender, put M if it's male, F if it's female, or N if it's neutral.
  • For modelno, put the model number as it appears in the games. (eg. DOG-0)
  • For type, put the creature/object the Medarot is designed after. (eg. Dog)
  • For the sections that end in "-j", write the original name in Japanese text. (eg. シアンドッグ)
  • For the sections that end in "-r", write the romaji (the Japanese name in English letters). (eg. Shiandoggu)
  • For appear, list the media that the Medarot appears in. (Video games in -game, and anime, manga, and card sets in -else.)
  • For design, put the name of the real-world character designer for the Medarot.

Note: Do NOT remove unused sections. Leaving the romaji sections blank will result in the Japanese part names not showing up correctly. If a Medarot has no appearances outside of games, please write "none" for appear-else.

Advanced[edit]

Image resizing[edit]

For a lot of Medarots, the clearest picture available will be a game sprite. (All of the GBC sprites should already be sized to fit neatly in the infobox.) However, if there's a better quality picture available (such as a piece of official artwork), it can be added instead, with the line:

| resize = yes

...placed after the line for the image to bring it down to a reasonable size.

If the picture is wider than it is tall (as is the case with some Navi sprites), this line should be used instead:

| resize-width = yes

Screenshots and other pictures should be avoided unless completely necessary (i.e. for the 3D games).

Multiple genders[edit]

Generally, filling in the gender field is pretty straightforward (M, F, or N), but there are rare cases where Medarots have had different genders depending on the game (e.g. Jiangzhu is male in Medarot 5, but female in Medarot 7).

For cases like this, enter the gender it had in its first appearance like normal, and add a new line for "|gender-2 =" underneath it with its second gender.

For example, for Jiangzhu:

| gender = M
| gender-2 = F

Please note that neutral Medarots do not count as having "multiple genders". The only time you would add this line for a neutral Medarot is if it was neutral in one game and not in another.

Categorization[edit]

If you don't want the template to categorize the page it's on under Medarots, add |cat=false.
