Right Soutatsu (ライトソウタツ) is a Fuujin-type Medarot that first appeared in Medarot Dual.
Description[edit]
Right Soutatsu and its counterpart Tawaraya Left are based on a famous 17th century painting of the wind and thunder gods (Fuujin and Raijin) by the Japanese artist Tawaraya Soutatsu. In the painting, the wind god is on the right and the thunder god is on the left.
Right Soutatsu is an impressively large Medarot with a pale blue-green color. Its head part forms the torso of its design, with small wing-like "arms" on the sides and a large false head featuring a rounded face and a single horn on the top. For arm parts, it has two large air cannons which represent the Fuujin's iconic bag of wind. Lastly, its leg parts include a massive gray "tail" that represents a thunder cloud and allows Right Soutatsu to maneuver freely through the air. It attacks its opponents using powerful gusts of wind from above.
In the games[edit]
Right Soutatsu is a hover-type Medarot that attacks using high-power Tornado attacks. In Medarot Dual, its head part has a Charge Boost action which gives it and its teammate additional chances to attack before their parts need to cooldown. In Medarot 8, this was changed to a Double Drive R action instead, which allows it to use both of its arm parts on the same turn. It usually appears alongside its counterpart, Tawaraya Left.
In Medarot Dual[edit]
Right Soutatsu can be fought in the post-game, where it's used by Teramoto (the mad scientist) in the basement of the Tanonaka Parts Factory. When you fight him he always teams up with Chikuma (another scientist), who uses Tawaraya Left. The battle can difficult due to Tawaraya Left's Thunder Shot attacks paralyzing you in place, making you an easy target for Right Soutatsu's Tornado area attacks. Tawaraya's Hit Boost head action also greatly increases the size for Right Soutatsu's tornados, making them more difficult to avoid.
In Medarot 8[edit]
Right Soutatsu makes a reappearance in Medarot 8 as a DLC-exclusive Medarot. It appears along with Maquette, Navi Commu, and Tawaraya Left in the sixth DLC mission, which can be downloaded for 300 yen.
