Warbonnet (ウォーバニット), known in English as Warbandit, is a lion-type Medarot that first appeared in Medarot 2.

Description

Warbonnet is a Medarot that resembles a lion. As such it has its Shoot Barrel and Range Shooter parts, which aren't very fast but deal a large ammount of damage. To help its speed, it has the Tension Up part that allows it to become much faster.

The name "Warbonnet" refers to the feathered headdresses worn by Native Americans, which its own mane-like headdress is modeled after.

In the games

Warbonnet is often the designated "rival" Medarot, used by Kouji in the Kuwagata versions. Its counterpart in the Kabuto versions is the sabertooth tiger-type, Smilodonad.

In Medarot 2

It appears as Kouji's first Medarot in the Kuwagata versions. Later, he backs up Warbonnet with Sakura-chan.

Strategy and Tips

Warbonnet is in the same boat as Rokusho, having weapon parts for arms and assist functions on his head part. He always does Boost Charge on the first turn of every Robattle, and then attacks. He is evasive, so Rokusho may not be enough to beat him with Radar Sight.

If you're fighting him for the first time, have Rokusho scan twice and then attack. If you are well into the game, transfer Warbonnet or Bayonet from the parts collection or use your own Warbonnet and use them as a leader in this fight.

If you are trying to build your own Warbonnet, Get his Head Part Tension Up first. then get his Leg Part Abductor next and finally his arm parts and use them with the Rabbit Medal if you are playing the Kuwagata Version. You only get to fight Kouji four times during the main story of the game.

In Medarot 2 Parts Collection

His parts, with a Kabuto Medal and together with Smilodonad, is one of the first two Medarots the player can obtain on the floor 01 of Fiyun Tower when Ikki chooses the 'Lion' when the Aliens offer Ikki a Medarot.

If not selected this way, Warbonnet and a Kabuto Medal are given to Ikki on the 20th floor of the Fiyun Tower when Ikki beats Kiara under her Retort Lady guise.

In Medarot R

Two Warbonnet are used by Kouji in the Robottle rank 3.

In Medarot 4

Exclusive to the Kuwagata version, Smilodonad takes its place in the Kabuto version.

The only way to acquire it is through an auction in Medaropolis. Kouji is also seen with his Warbonnet stored in his room, as he is now using Unitris.

In Medarot 2 CORE

It reprises it's role as Kouji's main Medarot in the Kuwagata version of the game.

In this game, Warbonnet's legs have the highest evasion of all dual-legged parts that are compatible with the Kabuto Medal, tied with Ambiguous.

In Medarot 8

Warbonnet makes a reappearance in Medarot 8 as a DLC-exclusive Medarot. It appears along with Smilodonad, Cyandog, and Nio-Heiko in the third DLC mission, which can be downloaded for 300 yen ($2.40).

Its model number is now KLN00.

In the anime

Warbonnet is Victor's Medarot, known for its participation in multiple official robattle tournaments under Victor's command. Equipped with a rare Kabuto Medal, Warbonnet can access the Medaforce, although how this Medal was obtained remains a mystery. Despite typically displaying little emotion, Warbonnet is fiercely loyal to Victor and has earned multiple world championships in the World Robottle Championship tournaments. Victor and Warbonnet are members of Team Kenya, alongside Isbestja's Rhinorush and Prauda's Goriongo.

During the Ten Days of Darkness, Warbonnet involuntarily attacked Victor while assisting other Medarots in destroying Kenya. This event shattered Victor's trust in Warbonnet, leading him to treat Warbonnet merely as a machine rather than a companion. Warbonnet deeply regrets this loss of trust and yearns for Victor's friendship again, obediently following orders in hopes of restoring their bond.
