Kanehachi MK2 (カネハチまーく2), known in English as Octoclam, is an octopus-type Medarot that first appeared in Medarot 2.
Description[edit]
Like its predecessor Kanehachi, Kanehachi MK2 is stylized after an octopus. To this end its "face" is placed on the Medarot's chest area (though the abdomen "head" does feature a pair of eyes as well as its kane-hachi symbol). Each arm has an anchor attached to a wire; this can be used as a grappling hook to Hold opponents, reducing their speed. Its six-legged base provides maximum mobility on uneven terrain.
Its CLA model may reference calamari, a dish of octopus meat. It is also likely to be a corruption of Kraken, a mythological giant squid, whose likeness is on the medal that this Medarot is best matched with. With no references to clams, its English name "Octoclam" is based solely upon its model.
In the games[edit]
In Medarot 2[edit]
It does not play a major role. Some medarotters in rough terrains like Oboro Mountain use Kanehachi Mk2 as their Medarot, though.

In the anime[edit]
Kanehachi Mk2 made an appearance in an episode, where Metabee, not used to the beach environment for robottling, fights against Yuichiitan and loses. An old fisherman lends his Kanehachi Mk2's leg part, Swick, to Metabee so he can walk and swim in the beach. The rematch proved the training and the new legs useful, as Metabee successfully defeated Yuichiitan.
Later, another Kanehachi Mk2 is used by Nadako, the Takoyaki-maker from Osaka. Hers has its arms replaced with Red Matador's Saber and Crow Tengu's Tornado. After beating it in a Robottle, Ikki and Metabee win a Swick to keep.
