DonDoguu (ドンドグー), known in English as Gorem-2, is a doguu (clay figure)-type Medarot that first appeared in the original Medarot game.
Description[edit]
DonDoguu's overall design is based heavily on a Japanese doguu, a type of clay figure that was produced in prehistoric Japan. Its greenish-grey coloration and arm designs, meanwhile, come from bronze bells (doutaku) from ancient Japan. DonDoguu is capable of hovering, and its main function is defending against a variety of specialized shooting attacks.
Despite being the first of its series, DonDoguu is named Gorem-2 in the English releases due to its successor OkeDoguu (Gorem) appearing before it in the anime. The name "Gorem" simply comes from "golem".
In the games[edit]
DonDoguu is a hover-type Medarot that specializes in Negate Explosive in its Medarot 1, 2, R, and 2 Core appearances to defend against Missile and Napalm attacks. From Medarot 4 to Medarot Brave, however, its arms were changed to use Negate Optical and Negate Gravity instead, giving it immunity to all three types of attack and making it much more useful as a defensive Medarot. From Medarot DS onwards, these became the Explosive Guard, Optical Guard, and Gravity Guard actions, which are similar but lack the passive effect of making DonDoguu immune to those attacks (the action must be used first).
In Medarot 1[edit]
In the Kabuto version, it is obtained by giving away items gained at the Synobic Park to the Village Chief at the Mountain Village. In the Kuwagata version, it is obtained after the post-game Grandfather and Robattle event.

In Medarot 4[edit]
As a nod to their appearances in Medarotter Rintarou, DonDoguu appears used by Mutsuki at Kameyama Elementary School.
It can be fought early in Kameyama Elementary, alongside the other Damerot Club Medarot only if you beat Kokuen and return to Sazanka City before you progress enough to battle Hakuma.
[edit]
