This page describes the Burn status effect. For the Medal attribute associated with the Phoenix Medal, see Burn (attribute).
Burn (継続, lit. "continual"), or Flow in the English game releases, is a negative status effect found in every Medarot game up to Medarot DS.
Effects[edit]
The Burn status can be inflicted by the Fire or Melt attacks, or from the effects of certain Medaforces. It causes the Medarot to take damage at set intervals (similar to poison in other games) until the status effect is cured or the battle ends.
The status effect will cure itself if enough time passes, but it can also be cured by using Burn Cancel (in Medarot 1, 2, and R) or Status Clear (in later games).
The amount of Burn damage inflicted at each interval depends on the power of the attack that inflicted it. Parts cannot be destroyed from Burn damage, but it can reduce all of a Medarot's parts to 1 HP, making them an easy target for piercing attacks.
Medarot 7 onwards[edit]
In Medarot 7 and later games, the Burn status was replaced with individual status effects for Fire (ファイア) and Melt (メルト), inflicted by their respective attacks.
The Fire status does damage at the end of the Medarot's cooldown phase (after attacking), while the Melt status causes damage at the end of their charge phase (before attacking).
