Dr. Gengoro Fushihara
Dr. Gengoro Fushihara (フシハラゲンゴロウ博士 Fushihara Gengorō Hakase), known as Dr. Hushi in the English dub and related translations, is a character in the Medarot series who first appeared in Medarot 1 manga seving as the basis for his version in the Medarot anime.
He is a prominent authority on Medarots and is closely associated with Rokusho (Hikaru's in the manga and the wanderer in the anime). He is also a nature enthusiast with a keen interest in insects.
Dr. Gengoro Fushihara exists in the games' continuity, but has never made a physical appearance. His interest in insects and having a parrot resembles the Insect Professor, who died before the start of the first game. However, it is unknown if they are the same person. The character is only mentioned in extra materials, which state that he created the SLAF System for the Medarots.
In the games[edit]
According to the Medarot Navi timeline, at the age of 84, Dr. Gengoro Fushihara created the SLAF system, a self-rebuilding nanotechnology for Medarot parts. This happened in the same year as the events of Medarot 1.
In the manga[edit]
Dr. Gengoro Fushihara lived with a Head Scissors named Youhaku, Barton, and the cyborg bug Danny.
One day, Dr. Fushihara was attacked by the RoboRobo Gang. Youhaku tried to fight back but was no match for the enemy’s Red Matador. During the attack, a cage containing a golden beetle, which Dr. Fushihara had been protecting to save from extinction, was opened, and the insect escaped. This left Dr. Fushihara heartbroken, and he eventually passed away due to illness. After his death, Youhaku "locked the memories into a cocoon," forgetting everything, including his own name, and eventually became known as Rokusho.

Professor Fushihara is a nature-loving scientist who formulated the theories that led to the creation of Medarots based on data collected from Rare Medals. Both Dr. Akihabara and Dr. Hebereke are his disciples.
He created Rokusho and the parrot Barton, and they lived peacefully in his laboratory. Believing his Medal theory could be dangerous, Fushihara decided to destroy it. However, Dr. Hebereke opposed this and fought him to steal his research, ultimately burning down the laboratory. Professor Fushihara disappeared in the fire and was presumed dead.
However, he survived the fire and somehow came into contact with aliens, eventually traveling into space with them to explore the universe. In the final episodes, Fushihara appeared in Metabee's dream and then in person aboard a UFO, offering words of wisdom to several characters. He even expressed a willingness to take Dr. Hebereke with him to outer space, after the confusion his former disciple had caused.
